Many LDS members are shocked and saddened by the decision, and rightly so...

There has even been dismay about the evident apostacy of the LDS leadership ....

These statements would reveal one who follows their own will and not the will of the LORD!

A disciple of Jesus Christ strives to keep His commandments

Romans 12

16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

John 3

23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

A disciple of Jesus Christ strives to keep His commandments

So true, Resty; so true!

But a MORMON does something else; doesn't he?

In conclusion let us summarize this grand key, these “Fourteen Fundamentals in Following the Prophet”, for our salvation depends on them.

1. The prophet is the only man who speaks for the Lord in everything.
2. The living prophet is more vital to us than the standard works.
3. The living prophet is more important to us than a dead prophet.
4. The prophet will never lead the church astray.
5. The prophet is not required to have any particular earthly training or credentials to speak on any subject or act on any matter at any time.
6. The prophet does not have to say “Thus Saith the Lord,” to give us scripture.
7. The prophet tells us what we need to know, not always what we want to know.
8. The prophet is not limited by men’s reasoning.
9. The prophet can receive revelation on any matter, temporal or spiritual.
10. The prophet may advise on civic matters.
11. The two groups who have the greatest difficulty in following the prophet are the proud who are learned and the proud who are rich.
12. The prophet will not necessarily be popular with the world or the worldly.
13. The prophet and his counselors make up the First Presidency—the highest quorum in the Church.
14. The prophet and the presidency—the living prophet and the First Presidency—follow them and be blessed—reject them and suffer.

I testify that these fourteen fundamentals in following the living prophet are true. If we want to know how well we stand with the Lord then let us ask ourselves how well we stand with His mortal captain—how close do our lives harmonize with the Lord’s anointed—the living Prophet—President of the Church, and with the Quorum of the First Presidency.

Ezra Taft Benson

(Address given Tuesday, February 26, 1980 at Brigham Young University)

So...

1. Are you claiming that gay rights and same sex marriage are commandments from the mormon jesus ???

2. Are you claiming that the LDS General Authories heard from the mormon jesus to support gay rights and same sex marriage ???

3. Are you claiming that any LDS memnber who are shocked and saddeed by the decision of the LDS General Authories to support gay rights and same sex marriage are are not following the will of the mormon god ???

4. Are you claiming that any LDS member who are dismayed about the evident apostacy of the LDS General Authorities for now supporting gay rights and same sex marriage are somehow “following their own will” and must “follow the will of the mormon lord” which is to now support gay rights and same sex marriage ???

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

IMO the LDS members have reason to be dismayed...

It is quite possible that there is now evidence of apostacy among the LDS General Authorities...

And the LDS members who are trying to live righteous wholesome lives should not be expected to accept the sudden change of doctrine about gay rights and same sex marriage...

What confusion...

I feel sorry for the poor betrayed LDS members...

Time for a real change...

I hope more of them get to escape the clutches of mormonism soon...

Tenacles of evil...

Jesus said to the LDS members, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man or woman comes to the Father except by me.” John 14:6
