Brothers and Sisters in the Lord -

There are many threats to the United States on the horizon ⁱ. Some of them include:

1. Nuclear Annihilation - A nuclear exchange over Taiwan with China which is building both missile defense ⁱⁱ and civilian fallout shelters ⁱⁱⁱ.

2. Earthquake – If the Lord wanted, could he not send an earthquake powerful enough to bring crippling destruction to the West Coast?

3. Terrorist Attack – As we saw by the Christmas bomber, we are no safer since 9/11, given we still don't screen for Muslims at airports. Also, the Department of Home Security considers a nuclear strike on one of our cities a certainty yet not knowing the city or time. ^{iv v}

4. Spiritual – The likely deliberate ^vi large scale importation of Muslims who are not assimilating into our lukewarm ^vii Christianity. Italy has experienced riots as of late. ^viii

Fortunately, we can seek the Lord for a Christian revival. We have the promises of God to provoke our faith:

“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” - Hebrews 11:6

Let's take our eyes off the Unbelievers, the Liars, Traitors, Murderers, Homosexuals, and turn our eyes upon ourselves as reason for God to judge our nation.

“For the time has come for judgment, and it must begin with God’s household. And if judgment begins with us, what terrible fate awaits those who have never obeyed God’s Good News?” - 1 Peter 4:17

Revival is up to us as believers.

“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” - 2 Chronicles 7:14

My brother in the Lord and I will be doing an “Esther Fast” from Monday until Wednesday. That is, no food or water for three days, for a reversal as experienced by the Jews in exile, and as experienced by the city of Nineveh in the book of Jonah. I make it a point to feast for three days afterward, just like Esther did.

“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.” - John 15:5

Given Jesus said his disciples would fast, ^{ix x xi} Perhaps our lack of regular fasting means we are not abiding in Christ, and thus we are disobedient, and thus we have “[done] nothing” to turn this nation to Christ and righteousness from sin and Satan?

We need 3 things:

1. Revival among God’s Leaders and His Sheep

2. The Power of the Holy Spirit’s Gifting restored to His People (“without a vision the people perish” ^xii)

3. Finances/Money and the facilities in LA and across this nation to carry on the meetings required.

We (the two of us) will be doing this Monday through Wednesday. We are committed to this. We invite the grave and sober Christians of FreeRepublic to join us.

May we fast and abide, that we would bear fruit!

Many churches right now all over are doing a prayer devotion of 40 days in unity for the world, called “Seek God for the City.” We do this every year.

Every day we pray for a certain area of the world, a certain group (such as teachers, or the unemployed, or fathers), and for a certain purpose. Many cities all over the world are participating, thousands of people in a non demoninational way.

Our church is meeting at 6 every morning to pray, and many churches in my town are participating. I’m quite strict on doctrine - it’s a very solid book, theologically.

I don’t know why they don’t just publish it on the web, but they don’t - the price however is nominal, just $3 for a nice booklet. If you find a church that bought them in bulk, you can get them for much less, about $1 - $2.
