The more you post the more the workings of your mind are revealed. Repent and ask God for forgiveness.
Sounds like a post-doctoral dissertation in Calvinist theology. If Natural Law decided to become Presbyterian, if only on this basis, would you be willing to sponsor him? I thought so.
That is mighty Christian of the good Dr. E., isn't it, Natural Law?
“I was sent an e-mail that made this quote :
12% of the 300 Protestant clergy surveyed admitted to sexual intercourse with a parishioner; 38% acknowledged other inappropriate sexual contact in a study by the United Methodist Church , 41.8% of clergy women reported unwanted sexual behavior; 17% of laywomen have been sexually harassed.
Meanwhile, 1.7% of the Catholic clergy has been found guilty of pedophilia. 10% of the Protestant ministers have been found guilty of pedophilia.”
PROVE IT.
“Then why do cases of Catholic clerical abuse attract more attention than non-Catholic cases?
Because the Church expects higher standards of its clergy and members than do other bodies.”
OK, now that was funny.
It is obvious isn’t it?
The problem is one of violating the laws of human nature. It certainly has nothing to do with sexual orientation. To suppress the male sex drive (for any reason) will have it’s consequence:
1. In the priesthood things like the current scandal.
2. In a prison, men who are not gay will in fact engage in homosexual acts while there and then upon release return to heterosexual life.
3. In a sexless frigid marriage for any reason, porno, etc, etc the effect.
It is all the same damn thing, the same effect! If the sex drive is for any reason suppressed these things can and do happen.
The Church as well as anybody need to admit obvious facts, the truth, not shift blame to this or that. Celibacy is not for everybody! Get rid of it as a rule! Paul in the Bible warned about this, so it certainly isn’t biblical!
Suppressing the sex drive is not wise!
It’s really that simple....
