Eucharistic Miracle at St. Stephen's in New Boston MI.(Catholic Caucas)

This morning at Mass Fr. John Hedges gave a powerful talk on the Holy Eucharist. He mentioned in St. Faustina's Diary that Jesus told her that many people receive him as a "dead object." And after Holy Communion, it is as if he is invited in to someone's house and they close the door and leave. Fr. told us to prepare well and to spend time in silent adoration thanking God for the wondrous gift of his son.

Then Fr.John told us that we had a desecration of the Eucharist last weekend and that it was not the first time!!! He said that often people come from all over to an event--wedding, funeral, etc. and march up to receive the Sacrament (despite the fact that he always gives a little explanation about reception of the Eucharist when not a Catholic) or fallen away Catholics who need confession.

At any rate, a host was found with a bite out of it and stuck to a hymnal. Fr. removed the consecrated host, placed it in a container with some water in it to dissolve it and then dispose of it correctly. The next day he opened the tabernacle and the host was bleeding!!! He returned the host to the tabernacle and viewed it latere and the blood was now a small dot visible on the host. The third time he checked on the host, it was again full of blood. Fr. mentioned that this was not the first time this has happened. He had experienced this before but took it to mean that it was meant for him. This time he felt that he had to share it with the parish.

After Mass Fr. John held prayers for the reparation of desecration to the sacred species. With the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament we did the Litany to the Heart of Jesus, had Benediction and recited the Divine Praises.

I do not need to tell you how many of us were crying during the talk. People's faces were RED. At the end of the Mass, Fr John placed the monstrance on the altar and told us to genuflect on TWO knees and to keep absolute silence as we left. He himself remained kneeling in front of the altar until we had all left.

This made such an impression on me that I am wondering when our churches will have the communion rails again. Also, if you are still receiving in your hands (which is approved, I know) consider receiving on the TONGUE in reparation for all the sacriligous Holy Communions. This is so sad. The number of Catholics who believe in the Real Presence is staggeringly LOW...Just under 30 percent!!! And there are so many priests who no longer believe that it is a crying shame. IT IS TIME TO STAND UP FOR THE TRUTH OF OUR CHURCH AND HER TRUTHS. PEOPLE, IT IS THE TIME FOR WITNESSING, NO MATTER WHAT! IT IS THE TIME FOR MARTYRDOM---WHITE AND PERHAPS EVEN RED, DOWN THE PIKE. KNOW YOUR TRUTH AND SPEAK IT BOLDLY. THIS IS EXPECTED OF YOU. DO NOT DELAY. TIME IS SHORT!

I become very passionate about our faith and will not keep silent. If this message moves you, spread it about.

shalom! maranatha!

Carol

I think God allows this so people who doubt see that it is truly the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I don’t generally follow seers and their messages anymore. We have the Mass, the Sacraments and the Rosary which is where our focus should be at.

Whether he is Catholic or not isn't (yet) relevant.

It is standard practice in the Church to verify miracles rather meticulously.

To say that fungi absolutely are the cause of this event (without examining it), however, is intellectually dishonest.

***Maybe I am wrong with what I see, but I know I won’t be wrong letting the Church evaluate before either accepting something with Catholic Faith.***

You and me both, Mark. I’m a life-long Catholic, 12 years of Catholic education, and the nuns taught us not to use the word “miracle” carelessly. To me, a miracle is something NO EXPERT can prove was natural rather than supernatural.

It concerns me deeply when Catholics accept rumors as a true miracle. It makes the Church look less than dependable. And I think it harms the Church rather than enhance it.

I DO believe in miracles, but only when the Church proclaims them. In this case, it has said it was a natural occurrence.

This is no rumor..I know this Priest. He is a very Holy Priest. Besides running his parish he does allot of outside work with the prisons and teaching at a Catholic University. He is totally committed to God and saving souls for Jesus. He spends many hours on his knees praying before the Blessed Sacrament. He is available 24/7. This was/is a Consecrated Host...why are we doubting this is the actual Body and Blood of our Lord.

And consider that out of all the people actually healed, there are only like 74 cases that are actually cited at Lourdes.

That's because the requirements for a healing to be certified as a miracle are so stringent. Steve and I are going to go this fall in hopes that his kidney failure will be stopped and he can avoid dialysis, but even if his kidney function returns to 100%, it will not be certifiable as a miracle for several reasons, one being that he is not in imminent danger of death.

At first I never understood it because of the cannibalistic sound of it. I think thats what bothers people at first. But we have to remember. What the original sin cost. Look what happen in the beginning. When they(adam and eve) were banished from the garden paradise. —————————————— Genesis3:21 “The LORD God MADE Garments of SKIN for Adam and his wife and clothed them. 22 And the LORD God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” 23 So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side [e] of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.”——————————————————————————————————— So much was lost for mankind. God had to kill an animal(Skin for garment) because he cared. An animal had to die for man. He created that animal. How would you like to destroy your dog.And something you made with love. That hurts! Do you think he wanted to have to do that. No but he did. We first see how God acts after the fall from paradise. Its a Horror. But he is love and justice together. You can’t have one without the other because of God’s Holy Character. And love still prevails as we continue in the old testament. When we get to Abraham this mysterious character (only once is shown from the original act But written in an epistle as example ) shows up to bless him. Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine . Who in the world is this guy in this passage. He just comes on the scene. He is never to be seen by this name. And here I just found online( I believe thru the Holy Spirit and I just came back from 9:00 am Mass -No mere coincidence): —————————————————————— There are a number of ways in which God has foreshadowed the work of Christ in the Eucharist. He has done so through the various signs of bread and wine in the Old Testament, Abram’s interaction with Melchizedek, the Passover, and the manna and quail the Israelites ate in the desert.

First, there is Abram (later to be called Abraham) and his encounter with Melchizedek, king of Salem and priest of God most high, who offered bread and wine and blessed Abram. Melchizedek is both king and priest, as we know Christ to be. The name Melchizedek means, “my king of justice.” Jesus is truly the just king. Melchizedek is the king of the city of Salem, which would later be called Jerusalem. Jesus would make his triumphal entry into Jerusalem as king. “Behold your king comes to you, meek and riding on an ass…” (Matthew 21:5). It is in Jerusalem that Jesus would come to be mocked by the words, “Hail, king of the Jews” (Matthew 27:29). It is here that as king and priest he would offer gifts of bread and wine, consecrating them into his own body and blood, during the Passover. Then, as king and priest, he would offer the sacrifice of his life, thus blessing all of humanity and the descendents of Abram.

Second, we have the Passover, the most significant event for the people of the Old Testament. For a full account of the Passover ritual, read Exodus 12. Here are some highlights that relate to the Eucharist.

We note that a lamb without blemish must be sacrificed according to how much each man could eat. We know from the lips of John the Baptist that Jesus is, “…the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). We also know Jesus is the lamb without blemish. Pilate proclaimed, “I find no guilt in him” (John 18:38). It is also the case that we must eat the lamb. “…Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you” (John 6:53). The whole assembly was to gather together to sacrifice the lambs. We too are called to assemble for the sacrifice of the Eucharist, the new Passover celebration. Then they were to take the blood of the lamb and put it on the lintels and doorposts where they were going to eat the lamb with unleavened bread. The blood was to be a sign of deliverance of the first born sons of Israel.

We are called to receive the blood of Christ, the only begotten son of the Father, and eat the Bread of Life as a sign of our deliverance from slavery to sin. Exodus goes on to say, “This day shall be a memorial feast for you, which all your generations shall celebrate with pilgrimage to the Lord, as a perpetual institution” (Exodus 12:14). They are also required to keep a feast of unleavened bread, “as perpetual institution” (Exodus 12:17). In the Eucharist, all these elements are combined to make up Mass as our keeping of the memorial feast of Christ: “Do this in memory of me” (Luke 22:19). It might also be noted that after God prescribes for them what to do, “the people bowed their head and worshipped” (Exodus 12:27). The eucharistic sacrifice is where we are called to worship the Lamb of God, in spirit and truth. Another crucial point is that the Eucharist was instituted during the feast of the Passover.”—————————————————————
Notice the victim the Lamb is eaten to really foreshow the eating of the Real presence. Notice to predict Christ is Isaiah 53-”He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth.” How does a Jew believe a lamb led to slaughter goes welllll how about the passover lamb eaten -right here is a prediction of the real presence flesh eaten. Jesus as THE LAMB eaten never the less -HELLLOOOO- Which this passage is shown in the book of a Acts. ACTS 8:26-40—————— -——————————————————————————31”How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

32The eunuch was reading this passage of Scripture:
“He was led like a sheep to the slaughter,
and as a lamb before the shearer is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
33In his humiliation he was deprived of justice.
Who can speak of his descendants?
For his life was taken from the earth.”[b]

34The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?” 35Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.” So they are talking about Christ as the lamb which is eaten too in the passover. No mere coincidence. Christ also says eat my flesh which is in the passover meal.-——Exodus 12:8 8’They shall eat the flesh that same night, roasted with fire, and they shall eat it WITh unleavened Bread (I)and bitter herbs. “ Notice WITH Bread to become the flesh in the new passover of Christ (Lamb). Why would God ordain the original lamb to be eaten and not Christ’s flesh which really is a benign presence on the bread cause only God can create skin he is the creator. He put it in there not man. A man could not make that up. Its all there!————————————————————————————Then only the 72 which became 12 in the Gospels story of John 6:53 “Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. 57Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate Manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever.” The Flesh with the bread which became the real presence of Jesus.———————————————————————————————We have God supplying manna and quail for the Israelites in the desert. While the people are in the desert after the Exodus, they murmur against God, accusing him of murderous plans by means of starvation. God responds, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. Each day the people are to go out and gather their daily portion…” (Exodus 16:4) During the feast of Passover, the year before the Eucharist was instituted at the Last Supper, Jesus says, “…it was not Moses who gave the bread from heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from heaven…I am the bread of life…” (John 6: 32, 35). It is no coincidence that “the Jews murmured about him” just as they did in Moses’ day (John 6:41). Many Catholics in our day murmur about this as well. In the morning God will give the bread to eat, and “the Lord gives you flesh to eat in the evening” (Exodus 16:8). In the Eucharist, we know that the bread becomes Jesus’ flesh for the life of the world (cf. John 6:33). The Israelites were to eat the flesh, and be filled with bread. In receiving the Eucharist, we, too, must believe Jesus’ words, “Whoever comes to me will never hunger” (John 6:35).

If it was not clear before, it should be clear now, that our Father knows how to teach his children. In our study of the faith, we can never, ever do away with the Old Testament. In studying the New Testament we must remember the words of the catechism, “...the books of the Old Testament bear witness to the whole divine pedagogy of God’s saving love…‘in them, too, the mystery of our salvation is present in a hidden way’” (CCC 122).

Thanks! His (never-smoked) college roommate had been healed of lung cancer there several years before they met, but the Board (whose exact name I don’t recall) doesn’t even look at cancer cases for x number of years after healing because spontaneous remissions are so common. I’m not sure how common they are in lung cancer cases, but I guess they’d rather not-certify a real miracle than falsely-certify a non-miracle.

I like that idea of people coming forth with what they have witnessed or experienced. Why not start a new thread on this?
I will chime in with my own experience and would love to hear others.

I am glad you don't doubt the actual Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. And I don't want to argue over this. But I am trouble by your post, that this is nothing more than a rumor which harms the church. Doesn't speak well of Father John, me, his parishioners or others here that believe this in fact is a miracle. Who is actually trying to hurt who?

I wouldn’t for the world want to hurt the Church, or you.

Please read the article posted at post #6, which says the Bishop does not believe it was a miracle. The date of the article is old, perhaps the Bishop has changed his mind. Or, perhaps, there’s been new information of which I am not aware.

Agreed...but your statement reminds me of the saying, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe." (Jn 20.29)
