I don’t think it’s really fair to question someone’s salvation based on how much they want to suffer.
Maybe it would be better if I said that our salvation will be based on how well we handle the suffering that Christ has allowed us. That is to say, to suffer like Jesus, with love and joy for even our enemies. Not easy to do, but all things are possible with God ... :)

I always have to ask Him for help to get me thru it, that is for sure. He reminds me how weak and cowardly I really am sometimes. Someone recently repeated the “God will not give you a burden you cannot carry” quote and it occurred to me that that’s not exactly true. He will not give you one you cannot carry with His help. I ask Him often, and know that should the time come for real suffering, He will help me carry that burden. But I do not look forward to it. I am weak.
