For instance, if I said "Buddhist beliefs are demonic" that would not be making it personal. But if I said "You are demonic" that would be making it personal.
When one belief spawns from another it is not uncommon for both to condemn the other in the harshest terms possible: anathema, apostate, cult, Satanic, heresy, Hell bound, etc. Those terms often become part of the Holy writ and are deeply held.
And whereas the terms are not tolerable on "caucus" "ecumenical" "prayer" or "devotional" Religion Forum threads, they should be expected in the town square format of "open" Religion Forum debate. That is why thick skin is required on open RF threads.
“In order for something to be “making it personal” it must be about the Freeper, personally.”
When such comments are directed to me personally, as can be seen in the “To” header, I take them personally.
How long in the name of “open debate” are you going to let certain individuals in this forum, by way of their very “un-Christlike” posts, defame Him?
And yes, I am responding to this publicly because that’s how you addressed me. If you’d like to take this private, we can discuss it further there.
