“Baptism spoken of in terms of a “symbolic act of obedience” is typical of that sort of church.”

Where does it say this?

In the bit I quoted from their statement of faith. "It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, etc. etc."

I have noticed this among baptists, even otherwise quite rigorously calvinistic baptists, that they emphasize baptism as obedience.
