I suspect most RC's that jumped in with their knee jerk reaction to this are having second thoughts. There is a huge gulf between RC's and Evangelicals, but do they really want to support a pro abortion lefty over a conservative Christian? RC's really need to start looking in the mirror when they start throwing around the word bigot.

The reason Miers was pulled from the SCOTUS nomination was because Evangelicals were not confident in how pro-life and conservative she was. The same Evangelicals supported Alito because they were confident in him in those areas.
