I don’t really know anything about Mormon Doctrine or Joseph Smith, but I do know Jesus hung out with Sinners some of the worst ones in his days....He stayed away from those Pesky Religious Hypocrites that thought they had everything purrfectly right with G-d.....

Totally off topic, but I’ve always wondered what the difference is between ‘Breaking News’ and ‘Front Page News’. There’s ‘Extended News’ also. I have no idea what keyword is best to use when posting news articles.

They’ll have to make up their own minds about that.

I’ll put it this way. I don’t believe a single word written by Joseph Smith or his followers when it departs from the Word of God as recorded in the Holy Bible and I’m not thrilled about people coming here to preach some false gospel from the pages of Free Republic.

I don’t believe the same as the Catholics or Wiccans or Scientologists or Baptists either but I would not censor them if the appearance of the board was that they are welcome.

Heck if someone wanted to post caucus threads about how they worship the Kool-Aid man I would let them as long as no established rules were broken that fairly applied to all.

Are only threads that hold the same views as you allowed in both political and religious sections?

If that is the case then great. Please let’s be clear and up front and open about it.

Okay, just what is YOUR definition of “Breaking News”...

something that was published in 2003 and maybe just got rereleased?

Thanks Jeff. You are one of my favorite LDS posters on here. Thanks for your example.

It would seem there is a bit of the spirit of Gov. Boggs on FR tonight. I would hope that we can all stop the infighting and focus on the real struggle we are engaged in.

This is starting to get ridiculous.

Why was this moved to breaking news?

So JimRob wouldn't have to say it was "B.S." while it was on the religion forum. That guy's a stickler for the rules and one doesn't use "potty language" on the religion forum.

Nope. Wiccans or Scientologists are not welcome here. Nor anyone else worshipping Kool-Aid men. Thank you very much.

If you read the posts you will see that the article was originally posted in the religious forum. Jim Robinson moved it to breaking news.

“I am a little confused why the title would be changed. It is straight from the source”.

“I am a little confused why location would be changed. It is of a Religious nature and is from a recognized religious group on this board.”

“I am a little confused why the designation was changed. It was a caucus thread and pinged to the caucus members”.

You sound as if you’re a little confused P.D.

"Belief in Jesus Christ's dealings with Joseph Smith and the other leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a matter of faith.

As with all christians, our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and Him crucified and resurrected, and His atonement for our sins, which is a free gift if we will accept it...is the key and principle issue which over-rides all others.

I would agree on this most critical tennant and join together shoulder to shoulder with all my other Christian friends of all denominations to jointly fight the pressing evils of the day that threaten our Republic and way of life.

...and avoid contention amongst ourselves which serves to weaken us in the fight for our society, and not push on the other issues where we differ in interpretation or other principles which are in the end, of less consequence than our joint, sincere belief in Jesus of Nazareth, born in Bethlehem and Savior of all mankind, the only path and gate through which any of us may return to our Father in Heaven."

Well said Jeff.

I am not keeping track, nor am I interested in freerepublic’s religion section. I’ve seen LDS posts before and if accompanied by “LDS caucus” I mostly ignore them.

Someone asked earlier in the thread about the frequent Catholic posts winding up in the general forum. I wouldn’t mind their being segregated either.

And as to “constant daily attacks upon the LDS faith on this board” ...well, that phrasing kind of makes my point. I don’t see any blood. It’s all pretty mild compared to what Christians go through globally. However, I am sorry that you have to go through quite a bit of insulting flak.

So just because someone is listed under “Denominational Topics” when you choose to create a post doesn’t mean they can post. Those designations are only for those who wish to ridicule them to choose who is the object of ridicule?

I am a Christian, all I know is that I try and live by the *Greatest* two commandments Jesus left us with:

1. Love GOD with all your heart mind and soul

AND:

2. Love your neighbor as yourself...

Wether you are a Jew, Gentile, Catholic, Baptist, Mormom, Jehovah Witness..Jesus IMHO wanted us to live with those 2 greatest commandments with one another..

I suspect one day all Religious Doctrine will be sorted out by the King of Kings himself that everyone will finally understand....:)

Thank you Jeff one of the hardest lesson and to be patience with those who rail against you.

This should be a good year to learn that.

I have become upset with some of and one in particular of the anti to the point that was unbecoming of me.

I am so thankful this is out in the open I have known this for a long time by slight innuendos along the way now I feel free at last that I was not imagining this stuff.

This could be a blessing in disguised

I am LDS (card carrying so to speak) and have never felt unwelcome here. I simply refuse to partipate in bashing others, or participating in arguements over faith.

I bear my estimony of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, which should unite most of us irrespective of denomibantion and try and join with others to fight the pressing evils of the day that seek to destroy our very way of life.

I proudly join with Jim in that fight, despite the fact that he does not share or believe the other tennants of my faith. if we can agree on Jesus Christ and Him crucified and our utter dependence on His grace and atonement, then we can fight the evil of the day together and I roprefer to do that rather than endlessly argue points of less importance.

Belief in Jesus Christ’s dealings with Joseph Smith and the other leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a matter of faith.

As with all christians, our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and Him crucified and resurrected, and His atonement for our sins, which is a free gift if we will accept it...is the key and principle issue which over-rides all others.
