The caucus definition was changed because when Christians looked at the title Joseph Smith: An Apostle of Jesus Christ they see it saying that Joseph Smith is an Apostle of the Savior (and God) of the Christian faith Jesus Christ.

That in it's self is deceptive, because the Jesus Christ of mainstream Christianity has no apostle named Joseph Smith.

If the title would have said Joseph Smith: An Apostle of (the Mormon) Jesus Christ I doubt there would have been a problem.

There is a great divide between the Mormon jesus and the Christian Jesus Christ.

Don’t feel bad the stealth war on the LDS is now in the open!

War? You exaggerate. No blood has been spilt; no harm has been done to us or the Lord's work.

I frequently disagree with what is written about Mormons and Mormonism here. Rather than complain about being mistreated, it is better to set the record straight. I appreciate the opportunity that Free Republic offers us to respond to attacks on our faith.

Restornu, what anti-Mormons do and say about us is far less a concern to me than what some Mormons do and say in response. Thin-skinned Mormons probably should not read critical articles.

Protestants, as I understand it, believe that there was a falling away, or apostasy from the the original church, or else they would not have broken off from Catholicism.

I understand that Catholics believe that the keys of the kingdom have been with the Roman Catholic Church from the beginning until now.

As far as the three Nephites are concerned (and John the Beloved), they were separated from the world by God for a particular mission. They are to tarry until the Lord comes, doing a special work.

He’s made that claim on FR before, years ago. Sadly, I think he actually believes it!

.rather all members are mindful of the various requirements they are to uphold and what it must ‘look like’ in order to gain the respectability of their membership and leadership

There is a guy named Shawn McCraney who wrote a book called “Born again Mormon” where he tells that even though he was an active Mormon he eventually became an atheist but still did what he was expected and was accepted just fine.

After he got saved, and started talking about Jesus and grace, he was shunned and told he wasn’t a ‘good Mormon’ anymore. Eventually he left.

It is an interesting read.

I was booted from caucus threads while I was still officially a member of the LDS Church.
***Ok, that’s something I had not considered. I’m glad you were shown the light of truth through this exercise.

Well that makes sense. As with everything LDS, it is all about the numbers...

Friends, brethren, beware of those who teach that God will not answer a sincere prayer from the heart.

Yo!

DUDES!

Beware of those who teach that God will ALWAYS answer a sincere prayer from the heart. If the ANSWER is already in the BIBLE, and you get a DIFFERENT one from 'god' - guess what!

It wasn't GOD who 'answered' you!

BTW, I am a descendant of Abraham with the genealogy to prove it.

- - - - - -
Oh guys. Get a load of THIS claim. ROFLMAO

..........................................

Reganaut, I’ve seen them claim to be descended from
ol horndog Joe Smith, have a geneology back to Adam
etc.

It appears to me to be some kind of grasping for
self-importance, authority, etc. Who knows. I find
it better to let it go. It is humorous.

DU; have YOU ‘prayed’ about the Book of ABRAHAM; to see if IT was from GOD?

Or they could just stick to Millett’s methodology for dissembling ... answer the question the Mormon believes the questioner should have asked. And with so much duplicity ingrained in Mormonism history, it should be no problem to devise some spin which will deflect from exposure of blasphemies and heresies at the heart of Mormonism, right? ... Now, if you could just figure out a way to silence oppositon to the blasphemies :

Of course, as is usual with anti-Mormon propagandists, you ignore this and continue to regurgitate your “side” of the topic as undeniable fact. /eyeroll

You is one blind person all right!

Our 'side' of the topic is YOUR chosen Religion's scriptures and teachings!

Qoute from the "Word of Wisdom" (Mormon dietary laws that supposedly replace the Levitical dietary laws):

"The flesh “of beasts and of the fowls of the air,” which is “to be used sparingly” (see D&C 89:12-13)"

Mormon recipes for Beef

Mormon recipes for pork

Mormon BBQ recipes

Mormon Dutch Oven recipes

Mormon chicken recipes

In case one doesn't live in Utah, Dutch oven cooking is a state passion. Utah actually has an official state cooking pot, the Dutch Oven. Cookoffs are more spirited competitions around here than the Super Bowl. You actually have to qualify to get into one of the big ones.

Oh, and let's not even get started on how the entire state shuts down for the opening of elk season.

I have a great uncle who thought he was Caesar...

I think my aunt still has the records to prove it...

(That he was a loon, not that he was actually Julius Caesar...)

Shawn’s website is a rich resource in factual dismemberment of Mormonism fallacies [www.hotm.tv]. The shows are archived on the left side of the screen.
