Oh Lord, comfort your dear daughter in this bitter agony. Ease her heart, remove any trace of guilt, be her steady shoulder and refuge, help her to see beyond today.

I’m sorry to hear about your loss and ask God to give you comfort and healing.
Our Father,
You are the God of each day, whether it brings joy and gladness or pain and sorrow. In this season of loss for our sister’s husband, we ask You to bring to her a closeness to You that has even yet not been experienced. Her need for You has never been greater, and we know that You will not leave her comfortless. Be her hope for the days to come and help her to hold fast to her faith without wavering. May the Blessed Holy Spirit pray for her and bring forth the prayers that will afford her Your perfect peace. Even in this darkness, Lord, be her unmistakable, never-dimming Light. We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Dear Sister-in-Christ, know that so many are lifting you to our Father who loves you more than anyone ever could! He knows every hair on your precious head! Hold on to the promise that He will NEVER leave or forsake you, and that you can just rest in Him.
As you go through each day by day, hour by hour, sometimes just minute by minute, please know and feel the LOVE that surrounds you and is lifting you to the Throne.
You are not alone. We weep for you in your sadness and how dark it may be to you now. We cry for your breaking heart and wish we could take away your pain if only for a moment!
Holy Father, we lift your child to You. She is hurting, Lord, and needs Your loving arms to wrap around her and hold her. Lord, let the prayers of the saints carry her on angels wings, so that she may just rest in You and Your promises. Hold her, Lord, and let her just feel Your peace—that peace that only You can give. Fill her with Your strength, Lord, and surround her with Your children, acting as Your Hands and Feet. Abba, let her feel the love and light of Christ through those that know You.

I'm so ashamed. I've been feeling depressed and sorry for myself because my computer died. And now I log back on and read that you have experienced a real tragedy--one of the greatest tragedies that can be experienced in this life.
May G-d strengthen and comfort you at this difficult time. Beyond this what more can be said? Words are altogether inadequate.

My best friend from the time we were 14 (we're like sisters) lost her husband the same way last November.

First of all your comment on demonic was spot on. Satan is surely the cause of the pain & heartache in life as we veer off the correct path to the questionable/wrong.
Mary Lou - words simply are not adequate to express the shock and sadness over this terrible death. As others have mentioned here so wisely, you will get your strength & healing from our Lord, not friends, despite the best/good intentions. We are living in very difficult and uncertain times and yours was just made worse big time.
