“One cannot simply pick single quotes from the Bible to support some insane belief...”
Yet, isn’t that what you’re engaged in by using quotes to condemn those who reject your premises
__________________________________________________________
No, I have used a plethora of Scriptures and have asked and almost begged for anyone/someone to correct me with Scripture. No one stepped forward. Am I condemning you. No, I am not. I am simply sharing my understanding as it has been given me to understand. I have only just scratched the surface.
Truth will stand any scrutiny and I am shocked that you all see me as a threat. How can this be? Honestly?
To: SZonian
I will condemn the false and unBiblical doctrine/teachings of mormonism just as the Bible says. No amount of faux outrage, or hyperbolic accusations will shake me from that.
Me too. I have no use for their Bible or their prophet. They mean nothing to me. But the people are God's children and therefore brothers and sisters to me. I do not believe that they can hear the word of God. But I do believe that they will see Jesus and his love in me (that is) if I continually sow the seeds of the Spirit. Something I have not perfected, but then, who has.
Ignorance of the doctrines of mormonism does not grant one license to condemn those who, based on knowledge and experience with the false doctrines of mormonism, are engaged in refuting it.
The problem with condemnation as that usually only adds fuel to the fire. I can show Christ better through the fruits of the Spirit than any other way. Is this not what we are commanded to do.
I see one who expects all others to bend to his will because he quotes a few Biblical verses getting bent out of shape because they dont.
Really? Where have you given credence to your belief? If you do not believe what my view is, for goodness sake, share yours so that I might grow.
All I got from a bunch of you is a lot of grief because I showed a little love, compassion and tolerance to a fellow child of God, who has clearly lost his way. I do not agree with his belief. I reject it 100%, and it cannot touch me.

“Volume cannot substitute for truth.”
Wow! Again with all the hate and condemnation! And all the while telling others to be loving!

Ignorance of the doctrines of mormonism does not grant one license to condemn those who, based on knowledge and experience with the false doctrines of mormonism, are engaged in refuting it.Bears repeating. Unfortunately, a large number of mormons do not have sufficient knowledge of the fallacies and do not want to hear the truth.
"As long as people want the mormon church to be true more than they are willing to face the possibility that it is not, they will not entertain evidence or reason. Delusion becomes a choice." John Whitfield

I do not hate you nor do I condemn you. You are just being very theoretical when there is no need for it.
I am reaching out my hand to you in friendship and in the hope that whatever we disagree on, we can find the truth and peace between us.
To: aMorePerfectUnion
This is weighing very heavy in me, as Christ said it would.
I am not perfect, have never pretended to be. However, Scripture and truth goes hand on hand.
If I am viewed as a heretic or member of a cult. Then we have a real problem.
I am not a passive Christian, nor will I keep my mouth shut just to save face. I know what I believe, I know why I believe it and I can use the ENTIRE Bible to clarify it.
I get my back up, something that I still need to perfect. Certainly the way I word my thoughts could use some toning down.
Telling you that your comments are childish and immature, did nothing to further the TRUTH and probably undid any good that had been gained.
I do not want to agree to disagree. If you believe something, I want to know what and why. We can learn from each other through tolerance and patience. Perhaps I am wrong, perhaps I am not. Perhaps if you shared your heartfelt truth, my truth would meld with yours.

The problem with condemnation as that usually only adds fuel to the fire. I can show Christ better through the fruits of the Spirit than any other way.So, IOW, you disagree with Jesus condemning Pharisees & legalists?
You disagree with Paul refuting & arguing with the Jews in the synagogue in Acts 17, Acts 18, Acts 19? You disagree with Apollos doing the same thing in one of those chapters?
Do you agree -- or disagree with the statement -- comfort the afflicted; and afflict the comfortable?
Do people who have a spiritual disease respond to the cure if they are in denial about the diagnosis? What then?
Is it OK to love people with the truth; or is it "loving" to just let people remain deceived?
Why do people try to "out-nice" Jesus?
To: BornToBeAmerican; aMorePerfectUnion; greyfoxx39
Typical, spouting condemnation of Gods Holy Word. Really? I am forcing the Bible to support my view. What is your problem? Can you not make the Scriptures support yours. Your comments are childish and immature.Hmm...usually it takes a wee bit longer for a poster to refute himself. You managed to do it in 34 words...which, in all my years as a FREEPER, ranks third in the amount of sentences you took to do it!
First, you spout your own anti-condemnation phrase...Five sentences later, you're engaging in condemnation.
Tell us, BTBA, are we to believe the words you preach -- or your actions?
To: aMorePerfectUnion
Nothing I like better than being lectured and “educated’ by a modern “Kymbaya Christian” who complains about not being responded to with scripture despite being responded to with scripture and who is more than slightly vague on their point of view, real purpose and affiliation.
Seems we get a lot of that “I don't support the LDS, however you guys are (insert lame victim response)"...

Its the same old story, as soon as some Christian hears something they do not agree with, they attack the messenger instead of the message...And it took you less than a dozen hours to engage in attacking the messenger (AMPU) as "childish and immature."
More "believe what I say and not what I do" on your part?
To: BornToBeAmerican; aMorePerfectUnion
Actually, I am well versed in many Christian religions.Well, if this was a true reality, you'd realize that the Christian faith has advocated from the beginning to be one: 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; (Eph. 4:5)
To: Colofornian
f you put yourself on the same level as Jesus and Paul and the remainder of the the Apostles then all the more power to you. I guess you do not need the Scriptures at all.
I totally disagree with your statement on all accounts.
How can anyone hear or see the truth if God has closed their ears and eyes. I guess they can only refute it? Which they do vehemently. However, are we to remain silent? Of course not. Actions speak louder than words and we know what actions we are to show all. Love, patience, tolerance, kindness, humility, etc.
All we can do is plant the seed. If we plant the seed of truth and the response is negative. Is it our fault? Of course not. Only God can open ones heart, all we can do is plant and water. All else is up to God. We plant and water with LOVE.
To: aMorePerfectUnion
Stacking verses in a pile without understanding, using the mormon see and say method, is simply forcing the Bible to support your view.We got a resident MORMON that does this already - don't need another.
(But it's been a week since I've seen her here. Hope she's ok...)

How dare anyone say that some tin-pot false teacher can tear that down. I guess Paul was just STUPID to include ALL of the warnings about FALSE TEACHERS in his letters then.
You CAN'T be this foolish!
