Van Impe Ministry Abandons TBN in Clash Over Islam

I did an interior design job for one. He gave carte blanche to his wife and we were told to make her happy no matter the cost. The woman had the taste of a madam decorating a bordello, gold lavatory fittings on red fixtures, mirrors everywhere and that was just the master bath! She also wanted the bedroom done with red flocked paper, red velvet and lots of mirrors. We did manage to tame her tastes a bit on the rest of the house and it was not too bad, but that bedroom and bath will haunt me the rest of my life. After we finished the job, we never gave them as a reference and we hoped they never told anyone that we were the firm they hired. lol

You have a problem with big pink hair?

Not so much a problem with the big pink hairdo by itself as with the whole package hitting me in the eyeballs with the entire eye-popping shmazzle of big hair, sparkly ornaments, and trashy clothes. I could reluctantly live with Jan's bizzaro sense of fashion if their doctrinal integrity wasn't compromised by the phoneybaloney faith healers and other living travesties of biblical Christianity who regularly appear on their "praise and worship" programs.

I don't really like to criticize fellow Christians for certain things on which we disagree as long as those "things" aren't clearly at odds with the plain truth of scripture. But when TBN's emphasis is transferred from evangelizing the non-believing world's billions to compromising with what I believe to be Satan's own perverted travesty of Christianity by equating Allah with the one true God of the bible, and our sinless Lord and Saviour Jesus the Christ with the pedophillic monster Mohammed I have to draw a line and call a spade a spade. (mixed metaphors have never stopped me from proudly showing off my total lack of finesse as a writer)

Ha. Nice try but I did not work for PTL and Jim Bakker. Same time frame but different evangelist. The evangelist in question is still around but one has to look him up on the internet. He still uses the same name and same theme from years gone by.

Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggert are just the tips of the same iceberg. If they had not become evangelists they would have become politicians.

Am I cynical or what?

In terms of theology, the only “common ground” I want to have with Muslims is at the foot of the Cross.

Amen! We are all equally guilty and totally undeserving of His love and sacrificial death in our stead when we kneel in worshipful adoration at the foot of His cross.

And the good news is that Holy Spirit empowered Christian missionaries, divinely inspired scripture, authentic Christian satellite TV and radio, and the prevailing prayers of millions of His twice born saints are freeing hundreds of thousands, probably millions, of converts every year from Islam's demonic grasp and from other demon-worshiping false religions. Biblical Christianity is spreading through the 3rd world's desperately poor billions even faster than Islam can gain reluctant adherents at the point of a gun in many of those same locations.

That may be hard for many people to believe, myself included. However, that claim is tentatively confirmed in several journals published by foreign mission organizations whose missionaries serve on various continents and in nations whose people have suffered under Islam's sharia law for centuries and Christianity is considered an abomination that must be stamped out, by force of arms if necessary. If those claims are true, and I believe they are, all the credit must to to the self evident truth of Holy Scripture and the overarching ministry of the Holy Spirit whose irresistible power is channeled though the endeavors of the relatively few devoted Christian missionaries serving in those often dangerous nations and regions of the world.

My daughter served for many years as editor in chief of publications for a large internationally active Christian mission organization, and also served on several short term evangelization projects in Africa and formerly communist eastern European nations. She is not serving in that capacity at present, but she can cite several areas of the globe in which the identity and location of Christian missionaries must not be revealed on the internet or any other media organ because exposure would probably mean death or at best expulsion for the missionary or missionaries who are discretely carrying out our Lord's Great Commission in those areas. I am sure that those who serve Christ in those areas covet our prayers for their safety, and especially for the success of their endeavors in those parts of the world in which overt hostility to Christianity has been the predominant characteristic of the governing body for centuries.
