The same process is used for many vaccines. Here is a link to the vaccines that use cells from murdered babies: http://www.cogforlife.org/fetalvaccines.htm
I stopped once I found out about this. I believe Mug Root Beer is a Pepsi product among many others. I’ll stick to seltzer for now.
Pepsico also markets the Lay brand of chips and snacks, which we are now boycotting.
Just to be clear, the aborted cells in question are actually clones of clones of clones of cells taken from a fetus that was aborted 40 years ago. They are not put in the drink itself but are used by the company in question to test taste additives and the such.
So it’s not as though if you drink Pepsi you are drinking dead babies.
All the same, what the company in question is doing is unethical in the extreme — whether the baby was aborted 40 years ago or yesterday it is wrong to profit from its death like this. Pepsi itself won’t be getting any more of my business if these are the types of companies with which it chooses to partner.

Can someone explain to me in simple terms exactly how one could taste test anything using aborted fetus cells?
Just shared this with friends and sent kudos to Campbells for their response.
This could also affect kraft, campbells nestle and coca cola too.
They use the cells as they to test for a specific flavor profile. The cells are only activated by the flavor they are designed for.
from the article - The companys key flavor programs focus on the discovery and development of savory, sweet and salt flavor ingredients that are intended to allow for the reduction of MSG, sugar and salt in food and beverage products, the Senomyx web site says. Using isolated human taste receptors, we created proprietary taste receptor-based assay systems that provide a biochemical or electronic readout when a flavor ingredient interacts with the receptor.
I know they have done work with nestle.... google major companies and senomyx and see what pops up.. you may not be able to avoid
You have to think in terms of a laboratory somewhere growing these aborted cells perpetually in order to do their testing. Growing all sorts of cells in labs is SOP in many biomaterial companies. This company may be purchasing them all prepared for their assay systems or they may be growing them but they are using them - that we know:
Using isolated human taste receptors, we created proprietary taste receptor-based assay systems that provide a biochemical or electronic readout when a flavor ingredient interacts with the receptor.
They are using HEK 293 human embryonic kidney cells taken from an electively aborted baby to produce those receptors.
They are using these cells, these human embryonic kidney cells, as if they are any other biochemical compound in a racheted up litmus test...the cells being part of the litmus to proof their flavors as being accurate to their control flavor.
Thank you driftdriver and Domestic Church.
Thanks for clarifing. I was upset if i did in past . Still crazy.
I just emailed PepsiCo via their website. It’s 11 PM Saturday. I got a reply back about how professional Senomyx is, and how Pepsi ingredients are FDA approved. It’s a form letter, probably automatically sent. Pepsi isn’t interested in what we think.
Yum brands separated from Pepsico but they do have a contract to serve Pepsi products.
Boycotting Pepsi will be no problem here. In fact, when hubby and I go to Foxwoods Casino we bring our own Coca Cola, even thought we are both really beer drinkers, because all you can get there is a Pepsi, and Pepsi is just yucky.
I will make the effort to call Campbell’s Soup Co. A very loyal company that even after all these years is the anchor of Camden, NJ. It’s pretty much all Camden has got, and oh yea, I think they have an aquarium.
So, I’m glad to know Campbell’s did the right thing, because not buying Pepsi is easy, boycotting Campbell’s would be hard, but I would do it.
This is disgusting what these people are doing.
They are all little Frankensteins.
Sick and disgusting.
Either way, using these fetal cells hardly seems the best way to perform these tests.
