Being Reed Benson’s relief secretary opened a lot of doors for me in Utah.

John this could be said of the supposed “book of mormon” Have any experts ever examined the original ???

Many experts have studied the two original manuscripts of the Book of Mormon, and have established who were the scribes for each of the manuscripts. There is the dictated manuscript, which survives in chunks and fragments, and is owned by the LDS. And there is the printer's manuscript, which is almost fully intact, and is owned by Community of Christ.

There are many minor differences in the two manuscripts, and all those differences have been studied and commented on. Scholars have found that the dictated manuscripts has Hebraisms that sound strange in English, such as double negatives becoming a stronger no instead of canceling each other out, as in English.

As for the original metal plates, when the translation was completed, an angel took them, presumably back to Hill Cumorah in Southern Mexico, where the other plates are hidden until the time comes when God allows them to be discovered. God told the three witnesses of the Book of Mormon that its translation was true. So when the Book of Mormon plates are rediscovered, we will know how to translate reformed Egyptian. Therefore, the remainder of the plates written in reformed Egyptian can be translated without any need for a seer. The Brass Plates are written in the Egyptian that Moses was proficient in, so no seer is needed to translate those either. In other words, when the plates are made available for study, they can be translated and published fairly quickly.

Many experts have studied the two original manuscripts of the Book of Mormon, and have established who were the scribes for each of the manuscripts.

And yet this 'inspired' by the 'power of God' document has had over 3000 changes made since that time - all without the plates to refer back too. Imagine that.

Scholars have found that the dictated manuscripts has Hebraisms that sound strange in English, such as double negatives becoming a stronger no instead of canceling each other out, as in English.

When one copies copious amounts of the book from the bible this ceases to be amazing, but further evidence of plagerism.

As for the original metal plates, when the translation was completed, an angel took them, presumably back to Hill Cumorah in Southern Mexico, . . .

As attested by an 'archeologist' who is regularly cited by ufologists - need on say more.

The Brass Plates are written in the Egyptian that Moses was proficient in, so no seer is needed to translate those either. In other words, when the plates are made available for study, they can be translated and published fairly quickly.

You mean just like the kinderhook plates?

Don’t you find it at all peculiar;

That outside of the claims in the BoM, that no other evidence whatsoever exists of this purported “Reformed Egyptian”?

That for a civilization supposedly quite literate as the BoM claims, that no evidence has ever been found of any of their writings? Even mundane writings that countless other civilizations left behind?

That many respected and highly skilled linguists have found absolutely no record of any kind, either in the Old World, or the New World, of “reformed Egyptian” nor do they have any idea what it is?

Why would there be a need for reformed Egyptian, if the BoM peoples were proficient in Egyptian?

What purpose is served in creating a whole new language out of whole cloth?

That, although God purportedly approved the translations that JS was making, there were still over 4,000 errors?

However minor, this indicates a flawed, imperfect god. One who permitted errors during a translation he oversaw.

Not the perfect God of the Bible.

That nails it, John wins our player of the week award for this line...

The Brass Plates are written in the Egyptian that Moses was proficient in, so no seer is needed to translate those either. In other words, when the plates are made available for study, they can be translated and published fairly quickly.

So smith was proficent in translating egyptian and didn't need to use his peep stone???? My, my, I guess that's true - look what a wonderful job he did with the papyrus prayer scroll and the boa.

The facts are that Emma Smith was an honest woman, who fully understood before the interview with Joseph Smith III that church leaders did not want any coverup whatsoever, that they wanted to know the truth even if it was ugly. Emma Smith answered the questions, and the net result was that the wife of Joseph Smith Jr stated that to her knowledge he had no other wives, spiritual or otherwise.
_____________________________________________

If Emma Hale had ever been honest with herself she would have been truthful and admitted that she lied to herself and others...

She knew very well that her man Joey had been unfaithful to her time and time again...

even in her own house and where she would catch him...

She caught him having sex with one of her best friends once...

She took a broom to the slut...and the whore lost Joeys baby that she was carrying..

She should have taken a knife to the lower parts of her offending no good chestin husband...

She complained and warned Joey so much that he wrote d&c 132 pretending it was from the mormon god and threatening her life if she continued to try to stop him from his philandering...

What a sleezy lustful jerk Joey Smith was

a miserable excuse for a husband...

He must have embarrassed Emma no end...

No wonder she tried to put the memories behind her and went to a new town for a fresh start.....

Emma had testified that there was no revelation on polygamy prior to her husband’s death.
_______________________________________________

That is true

Emma spoke the truth there..

No revelation from any mormon god...

Joey Smith made it all up in order to have sex with anything in a skirt,

whether married or a 12 year old child, Joey didnt care...

he thought he was entitled to every female alive...

Now we have Warren Jeffs channeling and copying his hero Joey Smith...

same mentally, same activity...

In fact Jeffs quoted his mormon leader Joey Smith and added all the words to d&c 132 in his motion for recusal...

Isnt that nice ???

Elsie applied this to the present Mormon church. Since the Mormon church no longer practises blood atonement and polygamy, it is not continuing to do as their fathers did. Therefore, the application is false.

No it isn’t, they (and CoC) still follow their idols, their false Christs

Do these guys think that false Christs come in six-packs or in 30-cubes?
