Jews were exempt from the Inquisition and were not threatened with "convert or die."

What a horrible misunderstanding! So many Sephardi Jews thought they were being threatened - and all of this time, the torture, murder, and seizure of property was an effort to show Jews how much Catholics love "Christ's brothers" (in Petosius' revisionism, "Christ killlers" was really "Christ's brothers" a term of endearment).

BTW, this is a non-story. Anyone who knows Jerusalem can tell you there are many favors of "ultra Orthodox" and only a small percentage do such things - and their usual target is NOT Christians, but Jews who drive on Shabbat. The obvious purpose of this non-story is to incite. Nothing new in that... People have been doing that for thousands of years. Rest assured though, Am Yisrael Chai!

Jews who remained Jews weren’t subject to the Inquisition. They were subject to deportation. That’s why the Sephardi Jews are, or at least were, spread out all over the Middle East.

Completely true, and might I add that the ones they target are the ones who drive through thier closed off neighborhood on Shabbat. They put up road fences to keep people from driving in by accident. In real life, you gotta really go out of your way to have a problem with any Jews in all of Jerusalem. You just have to wander into the Arab section to have problems, day or night.

While the Jews in Spain were indeed faced with many injustices, this it is a vast and libelous exaggeration; it is the creation of a myth of unrelenting torture and murder 500 years ago in order to justify hatred and persecution today.
