Hopefully, if reform comes from the outside, then the remaining faithful Jesuits will seek permission to go over to the new, reformed order of Jesuits.
JPII tried to change their leadership, but they refused to permit it. And when the last General of the order retired, they elected a new one well known for having the same attitude.
I think there are many orders that could stand a “reformed order.” This includes many female religious orders, particularly the active orders.
Remember that this was what Sta Teresa did: she took an existing order and reformed it.
Maybe some Jesuit out there, even as we type, is hearing a few words from God...
