You will know us by our fruit.

Sandy, that verse is about False Prophets, not believers and the fruit of Joseph Smith is rotten to the core, that is proveable.

In a REAL cult, people are not free to express themselves. In a REAL cult, people are punished for not towing the line. In a REAL cult, innocent people are accused of horrible things. In a REAL cult, privileges are dolled out on the basis of OBEDIENCE to the leaders.

You just described Mormonism to a “T”. They claim ‘free agency’ but there really is none in Mormonism. In Mormonism, you are peer pressured into towing the line, if you don’t (ie leave) you risk losing your family, friends, job, social standing, even housing and school, In Mormonism, you must be ‘worthy’ (obey your leaders) to get the ‘good callings’ and even get welfare from the LDS church.

Sandy, the reason the LDS caucus privileges were forfeited is because Mormons were ABUSING the privilege, posting inflammatory articles under ‘caucus’ to avoid debate.

Yet, I do understand Mormon persecution complex is hard to escape.

Sandy, nice words but I know better about Mormon doctrine. The use of ‘condescension’ (which no Christian would use today) over incarnation, says what Mormons REALLY think about Jesus. He is just a stepping stone to their own godhood.

Want sources from your leaders on that?

SD has been told that fact several times, yet because she is stuck in cult mindset she cannot process that truth to stop using such a flawed assertion. In deed, by her fruits of false prophecy adherence we DO know her and her religion. And it is not Christianity, not even close.

No, Resty, it is fact. Proven over and over again. IIRC you were the one that posted the thread that ticked JR off enough to remove the caucus privleges. I believe the thread was called “Joseph Smith Apostle of Jesus Christ”.

And we are the ones who comment, answer questions and give sources, the LDS are not, so you have the cowards thing reversed, dear.

Sandy, that little insult toward the RM and JIm RObinson smacks of desperation to be made ‘the vicitm’. You are an insulting, snarky deceiver and I am surprised that your sneaky insults are still tolerated at FR. But, your continued representation of what it means to be a Mormon does help to expose the deceit at the heart of your religion. Sad that you are unable to perceive that fact about your own behavior, but there it is.

I know, and it is a common mistake, and you are right Mormons just repeat what they are told and don’t look it up or think it through for themselves.

There is a very practical reason the ‘victim complex’ is so prevalent in Mormonism. Joseph Smith realized that ‘persecution’ was a unifying force and would keep people from leaving. People feel sorry for those percieved to be ‘victims’ and it keeps many people at bay.

Young understood this very clearly, and the ‘us vs them’ mentality really took off under him. It was a way of ensuring his role as prophet during his coup (and it was a coup). It also kept people in line and helped with the cohesion needed for the trek west (the separation and isolation also encouraged loyalty to Young along with the increase of persecution myths).

In short, Mormons are so inundated with this victim mentality that it is hard for them to see that is really is just another measure of control by the LDS leadership.

"Mormons are at the same time exclusivists (only Mormons can go to the Celestial Kingdom and become gods of their own planet) and universalists (everyone goes to at least one of the lower levels of Heaven - they have 3). In order to get to the REAL heaven (the Celestial Kingdom) you have to earn your way there. They turn Christ into a loan shark, a perfect spiritual brother (no different than us) who competed with Lucifer to be Savior, and ‘paid’ for our sins in the the Garden (not on the cross) by sweating blood, but we have to pay Him back by our good works. Nothing is free in Mormonism."

That is one of the best descriptions of mormonism I have seen...thanks for posting.

Yes, and we know the founders of Mormonism by their fruit too...and the fruit was totally rotten:

It’s pretty simple. I do not believe that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God or that the Book of Mormon is the true Word of God. That’s just a fact of life and there’s nothing you or anyone else can say or do to convince me otherwise. And I’m not going to allow you or anyone else to preach a false gospel on this pro-God site (”God” meaning the one true Judeo-Christian God of the bible) and then forbid our Christian membership to criticize it. Our Christian bible teaches us to beware of false prophets and false prophesy and that no additions can be made to our bible.

I have nothing against individual Mormons and wish them the very best. As to earthly politics, I gratefully accept their support where ever they happen to agree with our conservative causes. It’s to our mutual benefit.

And I’m not going to preach to you regarding your religion, nor do I welcome you trying to preach to me regarding mine.

Lastly, I am still the same person I have always been and will be until the day I die. Thank you very much.

Merry Christmas!!

this is a Mormon attempt to sound ‘intellectual’.

I suspected as much. I agree though, very poor choice of words. It's Christmas and I'll leave it at that.

Thanks for all the other information.

What a bunch silly talk you all are cowards!

The perfect example of "coward" is a mormon who is afraid to discuss his/her religion unless he/she can control the discussion via censorship....this is something that the Flying Inmans have seen on FR for four years.

Cowards also resort to name-calling when they don't get their way.

From the boss - worth a respost. THANKS JIM for standing for the truth! Thanks to your allowing us to debate, we have seen 3 freepers leave Mormonism and come to Christ. Those are eternal rewards.

And I’m not going to allow you or anyone else to preach a false gospel on this pro-God site (”God” meaning the one true Judeo-Christian God of the bible) and then forbid our Christian membership to criticize it.
