Peter appointed an official successor to the traitor Judas in Acts 1. The Eastern Orthodox do not question the Western Apostolic succession (to my knowledge), but they are in schism with the See of Peter (on whom Christ founded His Church).
He appointed no one. They cast lots, ie gambled, to determine who would get it and it wasn't even a matter of seeking God about who they should appoint. They picked two men and drew lots. By default there would be one chosen and one rejected. There's no way around THAT. But it certainly doesn't mean that it had God's endorsement or approval.
Metmom answered you about “appointing” a successor to Judas. I didn’t know that the College of Cardinals shot craps to determine the next pontiff!
As far as schismatic - Council of Trent. The Roman Catholics are the splinter, not the Eastern Orthodox. Sorry, but that’s the fact. And they have as much claim to the “See of Peter” as the Bishop of Rome has.
That's no where close to being biblical...How do you guys spout this nonsense to actual bible reading, bible believers???
