Your ideas and beliefs are very wrong. I’m not knocking you, you’ve been misled by your preachers and your “feel good” sermons.
I don’t understand why one would hate the Mother of God as much as you seem to. The Virgin Mary. Please pray about what her “yes” meant to the world. She wasn’t just a stupid girl who got knocked up by the Holy Spirit. She could’ve said, “no”! God isn’t a rapist. Protestants have no idea of the fullness of truth. I’ll pray for you.
What is it about Catholics? If non-Catholics simply believe what the Bible says about Mary, then we are the heretics and haters. Not one non-Catholic has EVER stated any hatred of Mary. That's a stupid accusation to level at anyone.
And did it occur to you, or any other Catholic for that matter, that God knew ahead of time that she’d be willing to carry the Messiah?
Hello? He wasn’t asking her permission. The angel was telling her what He was going to do and when, knowing full well that she would not object.
Nevertheless, her co-operation was not necessary.
God gave assignments to lots of people in Scripture to do jobs they didn’t want to do. She certainly wouldn’t have been the first if she had objected.
You do understand about the sovereignty of God, don’t you?
Besides, I’d lay money, and lots of it, on the fact that every young Jewish girl who was a virgin was dreaming of the privilege of being the mother of the Messiah.
You think God wouldn’t have had lots of takers on that offer, or that any of the other ones would have refused?
What girl in her right mind would turn down what God said He was going to do for her?
Do Catholics think that Mary was the first, or only, person to ever say to God, *Thy will be done*???????
Good grief, that’s the heart cry of every born again believer and we’ve all done it when called to do something at some time in our lives.
It’s the natural response of a regenerated heart, not even a consideration of saying *no*.
Her saying that doesn’t make her any more special than any other believer who’s submitted to God’s will for their life.
God called her to carry the Messiah, He calls us to do other things. We all obey in what God calls us to do. She did her job, I do mine, others do theirs.
It doesn’t make any one person any better than any other.
It’s not WHAT we’re called to do but our obedience to do that counts.
