You are right that if Tebow were black his praise of God wouldn’t bother so many people. Even if he merely said “Thanks God”, rather than Jesus, I think it would be less of a big deal. The name Jesus Christ is what seems to upset people the most.

Were he praising Allah instead of Jesus, he would be celebrated by the media and the left.

Yes. Liberal Christians and Muslims can be as vocal as they want (and to be black is to have absolute... dare I say carte blanche?) That he is conservative is what this is about.

I wonder if you, like I do, find this just a little bit condescending to blacks. It's like, "Don't worry, we don't expect you to have the same sophistication that we liberal whites do. We only hate those that should know better"??
