>>The Apostles were the first clergy; they were given the authority to forgive or to retain sins.<<

Acts 15:8 And God, who knows the heart, bore witness by granting them the holy Spirit just as he did us. 9 He made no distinction between us and them, for by faith he purified their hearts.

1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

Hebrews 4:14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

>>Neither you nor I have that authority.<<

Oh really?

Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

No other so called “priests”, Popes, or anything else between us as priests and Christ our High Priest.

June 2, 2007 The Draganovic Ratline Operation was regarded as an “open secret” for the intelligence and diplomatic operatives in Rome. That is, they all knew that Draganovic was using the Vatican to help accused Croatian Ustasha Roman Catholics escape prosecution for war crimes against Serbs. Everyone also knew that the Vatican itself was shielding and helping accused war criminals escape, especially if they were Roman Catholics who were accused of killing Serbs or Communists. http://www.serbianna.com/columns/savich/089.shtml

“And working together with Him.. giving no cause for offense in anything, in order that the ministry be not discredited, 4 but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God” (2 Cor 6.3)

“for we have regard for what is honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men. (2 Cor 8.21)

“Respect what is right in the sight of all men. (Rom 12.17)

“Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God, (1 Cor 10.32)
SO MUCH FOR THAT ROCK IN BABYLON, It has given those anti-Christians ammunition and thrown a stain on His very foundation.

“God did NOT say to build a church” But I thought you would be one of the first to say the bible (scriptures) are the word of God. So yes, I stand with what I said I believe the word of God and he did reference his church in the bible (scriptures) many times. Yes, there was Authority that was given down. Yes, that authority resides in the Catholic church.

Freewill, you know the God given right to all is such a great thing. You are free to believe what you want and I will believe just what I told you. One Church was the word of God and there is but one Church, There are others who speak in the name of Jesus, but that does not make them part of the Church. Their actions may be righteous, but still separate, I will not be their judge but rather Our Lord.

Luke 9:49-50”John answered, “Master, we saw a man casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he does not follow with us.” But Jesus said to him, “Do not forbid him; for he that is not against you is for you.”

What a load. Should I have asked this guy to ask Mary to ask her Son to forgive MY sins?

What a load indeed. Let us tally up your list of EVIL and UN-CHRISTIAN like ACTIONS by the Vatican itself in the last 100 years

You bring up the example of Cardinal Muench whose crime in your eyes is what? Not being American enough? Show me that you would do better.

Then you bring up the example of Archbishop Stepanak whose crime appears to be that he ministered to the Catholic Croats under his jurisdiction rather than to the Orthodox Serbs who were not. Then you repeat on the theme.

You may notice that there is more Orthodox traffic through the doors of Vatican now than at any time in history. We are about to come out of schism. If you wish to marinate in the real and imagined affronts of history, then you may do so. The US illegally invaded my native country and burned substantial portions of the capital to the ground. Yet I now live here and do not bear any of its inhabitants ill will because of it.

If you cannot bear that the Pope is first among equals, then I guess that you will have to join the Reformation. Tough buns, cookie.

>> “Okay, thats it then. Case closed.” <<

.
The case has been closed since Christ denounced the Nico Laitanos in his revelation to John in 92 AD.

So you think the vatican aiding war criminals escape to another country was a Christian thing to do? District Court rulings (2006-2009)
On June 15, 2006, Judge Elizabeth Laporte of the Northern District of California denied without prejudice the plaintiff’s motion for jurisdictional discovery and granted in part the plaintiffs motion to provide materials pursuant to Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.[21] On December 27, 2007, Judge Maxine M. Chesney granted the Vatican Banks motion to dismiss the fourth amended complaint; this effectively ended the case against the Vatican Bank on the basis of **sovereign immunity.[22]

On April 14, 2009, Judge Chesney granted a plaintiff’s motion for leave to file a sixth amended complaint no later than May 1, 2009.[23] The sixth amendment complaint has been filed, naming the Franciscan Order as a defendant, but no longer the Vatican Bank.[5] On September 11, 2009, the District court dismissed the case against the Franciscans without prejudice on grounds of lack of federal jurisdiction and denied Plaintiffs’ motion to amend the complaint on November 13, 2009. Plaintiffs have appealed this to the Ninth Circuit.

Complaint to European Central Bank (2010)

On July 1, 2010, the Plaintiffs submitted a request that the European Central Bank initiate an investigation of Vatican Bank money laundering and dealing in Nazi gold. They based this on Article 8 of The Monetary Agreement between the European Union and The Vatican City State which forbids Euro issuing entities from money laundering.[6]

Cardinal Eugene Tisserant

held a number of offices in the Roman Curia, among them: President of the Pontifical Biblical Commission (1938–1946), Prefect of the Congregation of Ceremonies (1951–1967, when it was divided into the Congregation for the Causes of Saints and that of Divine Worship), and Librarian and Archivist of the Holy Roman Church (1957–1971). After the outbreak of World War II, Pius XII refused to release Tisserant as the head of the Vatican Library, so that Tisserant could return to France to serve in the army.[1]

In the postwar years, according to an interpretation of certain documents, Tisserant worked with the Argentine Cardinal Antonio Caggiano to rescue beleaguered Nazis and collaborators from post-war Europe.[2]
On 13 January 1951, Tisserant was appointed Dean of the College of Cardinals, after three years service as Vice-Dean
