I think we need to get Iscool into the conversation. It was he who was slandered in post 500. I goofed and thought it was smvoice but it was Iscool.

He may be referring to this, altho I wouldn't expect he would know of that much scripture...

Gen 9:25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
Gen 9:26 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
Gen 9:27 God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

While this speaks of the plight of the descendents of Ham, it in no way suggests that Ham as a servent is to be condoned...

Just more whackiness from the church from down under...And i ain't talking Australia...

>> Titus 3:9 but avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law. For they are unprofitable and vain.<<

so you would agree that the Catholics placing so much emphasis on the law is not profitable? In that I would agree with you.

>>Titus 3:11 Knowing that he, that is such an one, is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned by his own judgment.<<

Yep, Catholics tell us all the time they don’t know if they will be saved because of the sins they have committed and not sure penance has been paid for.

LOL Judgements from a lack of understanding of scripture. Truly they don’t understand the Spirit of God.

"And still no scripture. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk."

For a poster who claims that Catholics are idolaters, that those who celebrate Easter and Christmas are pagans and that claims that the idea of church on Sunday is a man made tradition and apparently not either Christian or Biblical? What would be the point?

Before you claim victimhood D-fender, I suggest you and the other parrots flock to YOUR post 571 for the reason I RESPONSED to you the way I did. Victims seem to have such a short memory. You could not have been more smarmy or rude. And you, Jvette, talk of “Christian unity”, as if WE just attack without provocation. Read post 571, and talk to me about “unity”. Stop with false piousness already. It doesn’t match the REALITY of the posts coming from your side.

Still no scripture to support your position. Do you even believe in what scripture says?

"Still no scripture to support your position. Do you even believe in what scripture says?"

Questions about scripture from a poster who claims that Catholics are idolaters, that those who celebrate Easter and Christmas are pagans and that claims that the idea of church on Sunday is a man made tradition and apparently not either Christian or Biblical? Given that this is the point of view from which you view the world, why should anyone pay attention to your odd, often incomplete and often misread cut-n-pastes?

Yawn...
So that's the official American Yorkshire spin on Scripture as approved by the talking parrots?
Thanks for the view from among those who worship their Most High and Holy Self and deny the deity of Christ. Seeing the spin is evidence to all of why we're told not to throw the pearls of Scripture before those who deny Christ and preach their own religion.

I see a LOT of anti-scripture in that post. Which is what makes the RCC so interesting. If it's NOT in scripture, then it's dogma. If it IS in scripture, then it's subject to Rome's interpretation of what it REALLY means to say. Which means it's turned into something that in no way resembles scripture. At that point, it becomes dogma.

"If any man teach otherwise, and conent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness: He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmising, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself." 1 Tim. 6:3-5.

Of course, scriptures say nothing about posting pictures of cereal boxes, mirrors, one trick pony graphics, or black pots and kettles. So I suppose those MUST be considered perfectly in line with God's Word. After all, the Bible doesn't say NOT to do it..who needs scripture when posting a picture for the upteenth time will suffice?..

Actually if you were following the thread, you would know that the first attack came from Iscool. CynicalBear offered a defense and D-fender said he didn’t care what CB had to say.

The attack from you was vicious and not a Christian thing regardless if you felt attacked or not.

As for the original thing D-fender said....

When one is unwilling to admit to which “Christianity” they follow, it leaves one open to speculation by others based on what they say in these threads.

I realize that many here think they belong to no particular denomination, but the beliefs they seem to follow are certainly tied to one or a blend of many.

No one here has come to their beliefs in a vacuum. Someone has influenced what they believe even if they do not choose to acknowledge that fact.

On just about any given thread, I can google one or two lines from some posts and immediately find a site with the exact wording.

Just saying.

Jabberwocky

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! and through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
He chortled in his joy.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
