((((((sigh))))) My fantasy....
There has long been an unacknowledged schism in the American Church. California is famous for the liberalism exemplfied by Cardinal Mahoney, the former archbishop of Los Angeles. Having reached the age of 75, Mahoney was forced to vacate the see, but he has plenty of bishops on his side inCalifornia and elsewhere. What Pelosi spouts is what he has heard from priests sand bishops, which is why she is so confident in speaking out. What has happened in the Catholic Church is something like what has happened in the Episcopal and other mainline protestant churches, except that in Catholic Church, the liberals are no longer so much in the ascendency. Dolans ascendency to the chair of the bishops council was not welcomed. because the pope has increasingly intervened to remove liberals from seats of power. The new archbishop of Baltimore, the primate in America, is also a traditionalist, as is the new archbishop of Philadelphia. But the liberals remain powerful and the likes of Pelosi serve as their mouthpiece.
Err.. Nancy, they DO. They don’t stand for CINOs like you though...
For now that is.
Slowly with more bishops tending to their “retirement papers”, look for more bishops to go back to the traditional basics.
SHE DOES NOT speak for me!
I really do not understand how anyone who claims to serve a Godly purpose, can try to justify some of the things that come our of the "Lady's" mouth. That the Democrats once made her Speaker of the House is a political atrocity, fully on par with electing a man whose actions had made it very clear, long before before he decided to run for President, that he hated every principal that had once made America the envy of the World.

I agree with you that she is wrong and so are the priests and bishops who taught her. Neither they nor she speak the truth. Rather half-truths, which are worse than outright falsehoods. To use the words of Jacques Maritain, a notable Catholic philosopher, they genuflect to the world.”
Yes, I’m a Catholic Deacon in the Diocese of Providence.
