Unsubstantiated and unprovable claims...actually, rediculous claims. Smith ifficially ran for President with no hope whatsoever of winning in that time frame. Why would he pronounce himself “King,” and then run politically for the opffice of the Presidency?

The Nauvoo Lelgion was an official, state recognized Militia for the City of Nauvoo which meany counties and cities had at the time.

There was never any, nor is there any “Mormon Law” that is set forth in the least to overthrow and supplant the Constitution...another favorite fiction of anti-LDS to demonize them. My father, my uncle, my son-in-law and many of my cousis and family have fought (many of them now LDS over the last 42 years) and bled and some died for the Constitution of this Republic which the Church holds as an inspried and Heavenly banner and document.

The Church teaches that during the Millennium, Christ will reign with perfect justice. He will not be elected. He will make and execute the laws. That is what this so-called law refers to that you want to ascribe to the Church now. Do you believe Christ himself will be a traitor to the US Constitution in the Millennium, svcw? I don’t. I will freely accept His reign as Lord and King when He comes.

Until then, the US Constitution is what I believe God Himself inspired and ordained to be the document that sets forth how the US will be governered and it is what the Church teaches.

But, this has gone far afield from the original topic of this thread and is now descending once again into the endless anti-LDS issues severaal are so well known for here on FR. I do not intend to go over all that again, so will bow out of it.

Can you pass without his inspection?

No; neither can any person in this dispensation, which is the dispensation of the fulness of times.

In this generation, and in all the generations that are to come, everyone will have to undergo the scrutiny of this Prophet.

They say that they killed Joseph, and they will yet come with their hats under their arms and bend to him; but what good will it do them, unless they repent?

They can come in a certain way and find favor, but will they?
