Well, once this handbasket we’re in arrives at it’s destination, we will know for sure.

REFLECTIONS
Life is short and death is sure; the hour of death remains obscure.

A soul you have, and only one; if that be lost all hope is gone.

Waste not your time, while time shall last; for after death ‘tis ever past.

The all-seeing God your Judge will be, and Heaven or Hell your destiny.

All earthly things will fleet away, Eternity will ever stay.

Luke 13:1 Now on the same occasion there were some present who reported to Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus said to them, “ Do you suppose that these Galileans were greater sinners than all other Galileans because they suffered this fate? 3 I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. (NASV)

The implication is clear: If you repent, you will not likewise perish

As a Catholic I've heard some versions of hell.
The most horrifying one is the version presented by the Jesuits: hell is the total absence of God; it's total aloneness.
