**Oakland Bishop Salvatore Cordileone is considering declaring the Catholic Association for Lesbian and Gay Ministry "not authentically Catholic" after the group's board of directors refused to take an oath promising fidelity to Church teaching on homosexuality.**

He's telling them to take Catholic out of the name because it does not reflect Catholic teaching.

I applaud him for calling the Lesibian and Gay ministry on the carpet.

I know him. He is NOT gay! He is a no nonsense, very orthodox conservative Catholic. He has been named by Cardinal Dolan as the head of the USCCB's Committee for the Defense of Marriage.

As an example of his commitment to "clean house" he named another no nonsense, very orthodox conservative Catholic, Father Neal Clemens (whom I also know) as Vicar of Priests for the Diocese of Oakland. Fr. Clemens is a former military chaplain and served in Iraq.
