Sorry, those missionaries are out there freely teaching people who want to, or ask to be taught. No bigotry involved in that at all. All one has to do is ask them to leave or say no.

In the case this thread is talking about, which is altogether different than the side step you are raising...trying to somehow claim that Rubio is “bad” because he was a Mormon when he was 8-12 years old is something entirely different.

And, actually, grey, I believe you know it. Or do you believe Rubio should be condemned now for what happened to him when he was 8-12 years old, when in fact he was a principle mover apparently, even at that young age, in suggesting to his family that they should be united as a family in their faith and revert back to Catholicism?

Lying about Christian beliefs is bigotry. Lying to innocents about the road to salvation is bigotry.

All one has to do is ask them to leave or say no.

All you have to do on FR is refrain from reading threads that do not suit your beliefs...no one is forcing you to do so..."All one has to do" is to ignore threads or say no without throwing the "bigot" card on every mormon thread and refrain from interpreting "my beliefs" when you have no insight into my mind.

BIGOTRY

Stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one’s own.

How can teaching a person be intolerance.

I also can't see the lying.

I can not tell you the names, actually silly question.
I can give you the quote from mormon authors that wrote and verified mormon hitler involvement.

Mormon authors Alan F. Keele and Douglas F. Tobler,

“The Führer’s New Clothes

***Hitler enjoyed at least as much popularity among German Mormons as he did among the population in general. Church members even saw Hitler as God’s instrument, preparing the world for the millennium.

***Thousands of Mormon families sent their sons to fight for the Reich. The vital importance of “Aryan” ancestry gave new significance to genealogical research. And the Führer himself, the non-smoking, non-drinking vegetarian who yielded to no one in his desire for absolute law and order, seemed to embody many of the most basic LDS virtues.

***An article written for a special issue of the Nazi Party organ Der Volkische Beobachter by the LDS Mission President to West Germany, Alfred C. Rees, “abounds in such loaded terms as Volk and Rasse (race), and a picture of Brigham Young bears the caption,’Führer der historischen Mormonenpioniere.’ Very disturbing is the way President Rees blatantly parallels Mormonism with Nazism…Mormonism sounds like a fulfillment of Nazi teachings.

The count that I have found is around 15,000. Not an overwhelming number really. And Hitler’s staff were noted more for their occultism and Thule society membership.

To basically claim that NAZIs and Mormons are the same thing is so far out there as to be pathological

SO what? Roman Catholics helped NAZIs flee from Germany after the war. The Hitlerian regime was driven by the occult and the Thule society. There were very few mormons in Germany (top number I have been able to find is 15,000). Members of all Christian denominations worked with and helped the regime and were enamored of the ‘dear leader’. Why try to paint the mormons with this brush.

This type of nut job tin foil hat conspiracy crap is what makes people laugh at conservatives.

ANd by the by.... you probably ought to read about the origins of the german desire for space. The history is very specific it came after some of the university thinkers and government elites went to Japan for a period of time after the first World War. Mein Kampf clearly lays out the concept and it is consistent with Thule teachings as well.

One may not like mormonism and think it is the worst thing in the whorld. Fine by me but do not paint it with an untrue brush. Study more than just mormon history and perhaps you will learn something. (Maybe you would blame Standard Oil for all of it by the logic you use)

And to ask for specific names of Hitler’s staff who were mormons is NOT silly. YOU made the claim. Pony up with some facts

I have said nothing about your beliefs here, grey, in fact I never addressed you at all until you addressed me.

I certainly do not play the “bigot” card on every thread either. Such generalizations and characterizations are demonstrably false.

As to lying about Christian beliefs...there you go again.

Missionaries go out all over the world in the name of Christ from many denominations in an effort to bring the Gospel of Christ to others. They all will terach and help anyone they can who will listen to their message and whi is in need of Chrst’s saving grace and atonement.

LDS missionaries do the same...simply because you do not agree with them, or me, does not make them or me liars. It’s this very tendanciy to jump to such negative claims that drive such attitudes.

For LDS the road to salvation is through Jesus Christ and Him crucified and Him alone. We believe what He said when He said, “if ye love me, keep my commandments.” We simply differ on what we think those commandments are. but His atonement and our acceptance of it is the key...without that, it does not matter what you or I do.

As to “simply refraiming from reading threads that do not suite your beliefs,” well, all I can say is that for you to say that to me, and in the next breath claim that I am “interpreting your beliefs” somehow is pretty ironic to me.

Again, I never said anything about you or your beliefs with my original post. Just made the point that anyone who would castigate Rubio because as a child for a short time was LDS, IMHO simply is bigoted towards LDS.

When you challenged that statement, I simply asked if you agreed that someone should be catigated for what went on in their life as a child. Asking you a question, which you are free to answer either way is not interpreting your beliefs, it is simply asking where you stand and seeking for you to make your beliefs in the matter plain.

Have a great Sunday, grey. I sincerely pray your worsjip is gratifying and draws you closer to Christ, Jesus. We will be worshipping Him and growing closer to Him as well here in Idaho.

was he baptized a Catholic?...probably yes...

I love Rubio and I think he would be a tremendous asset...

as a side note, most people probably don't know that Raul Labador, who has a pretty thick Hispanic accent, is also a Mormon....he knocked off Walt Minnick in Idaho for the congressional seat there....he's a pretty impressive guy..

"Oh, come on! We’ve all dabbled in Mormon membership at some time or other, haven’t we?"

this is the truth...when my husband was stationed at Griffis AFB in upstate NY back in the early 70's,we decided to try out this "Palmyra" pagent...not knowing for an instant what it was......we sat on a hill with lots of other people, and many young men in white shirts and ties, and watched the most bewildering thing I've ever seen.....but that was my "dabble" in Mormonism...

Rubio has a new book titled, 'An American Son'. Let's see, Constitutionally ineligible, a virtual nobody in politics but writes a book and is being bandied about as a up-and-coming political 'superstar'. How utterly 'Obamaesque'.

More proof of political kabuki. There are no 'sides' in American politics, only theater.

Which Christ is that Jeff?
The christ (lds) that was once a man, who had to work for his status or the Christ that always was and perfect.
When you say lds work in the name of christ - which one?
When you say salvation - you mean the salvation that you have to work for? Or the Salvation given to us by Grace from the eternal Christ?

Just made the point that anyone who would castigate Rubio because as a child for a short time was LDS, IMHO simply is bigoted towards LDS.

I simply explained that the lies spread around the world by the anti-Christian mormon missionaries are not only bigotry, but hypocrisy.

"Teaching" a lie is approval of the lie and the claim that God "restored" His Gospel when it was never removed from the earth is a lie. Teaching that the only way to salvation is through mormonism is a lie. Calling those who point out the lies of mormonism "bigots" is a lie.

Simple.

Those who throw down the "bigot" card had better be sure their own glass house is clean.

The bigoted words of mormon leader Henry Eyring Ensign Magazine: "The Lord spoke to those through whom He restored the Church in the latter days. He said of them that they “might have power to lay the foundation of this church, and to bring it forth out of obscurity and out of darkness, the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth, with which I, the Lord, am well pleased" are lies.

Again, I suggest that when a mormon throws down the "bigot" card, they should remember the bigotry of their own leaders and missionaries.

For what it is worth, Rubio was never a Mormon.

Did you people baptize him?
