“VERY TRUE!!!!...except when he speaks ex cathedra....then he is protected by the Holy Spirit from error.....not my idea, Christ’s!!”
Hm...could you please point out the Scripture(s) that very clearly says this? Because I do not think I have ever ready anything like this in my Bible.
I am not participating in this thread.
if I'm not mistaken, the Catholic Chutch is the largest private charitable organization on earth...we put our money where our mouth is....following Christ!!
You have misread what I stated. I said YOU had not even studied the very Bible you supposedly quote....then I went on to the example of Saul.
Do not bother to pray for me. I will never be a roman catholic. I HAVE studied history both secular and Biblical. You obviously have not.
And by the way, those ‘church fathers’ you refer to? well golly gee most did not know the apostles....but nice try.
Oh I agree that through out our lives we make choices ....my only problem is with people who try and white wash what was a horrible choice by suggesting that ‘oh it is what happened at the time’. Men (and women) of faith have aways done better than that.
I invite all un-true (non-Catholic) chrstians to investigate the Noahide Laws instead. No rabbinic sage would ever call the Torah "mythology."
Mark 12:41-43
41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
Peter...rock...build My church....whatsoever you shall bind....whatsoever you shall loose.....I will be with you until the end of time.......you fill in the blanks!
no you didn't....and if you did, you get a D- on your studies
excellent examples of charitable giving...the very thing that Catholics do more than any other group on earth.....say thanks, Catholics!!!!
Wow...quite a stretch to twist those verses in Matthew to mean the leader of Catholicism is infallible when he sits on a chair!
“1Watch out! Dont do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. 2When you give to someone in need, dont do as the hypocrites doblowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get. 3But when you give to someone in need, dont let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. 4Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.”
Jesus Christ
seeing that Catholics basically copied, edited, arranged, and saved the bible for posterity, why on earth would you say that they reject anything in it......they BROUGHT IT TO YOU....or you wouldn't have it at all!!!!
Well, looks like they don’t have a very high opinion of their work if so, lol.
not a stretch at all, and the "chair" is not where he sits....a proclamation from the chair of Peter means that the pope is speaking ex cathedra....officially, not expressing an opinion. He could be standing, writing, whatever....when he issues a statement OFFICIALLY....FROM THE "CHAIR OF PETER" it cannot be in error.

Is there a list of infallible, ex cathedra statements made from the chair of Peter? It would be interesting reading.
there is ,indeed, such a list and it is very short...over 2,000 years, the church has issued very few "infallible" statements...I'm sure Google will list them all for you....I won't.
What an odd reply regarding such a key tenet of your faith. You’d think a list of infallible, ex cathedra statements, rare and brief as you say, would be chiseled in stone somewhere amongst the statues and reliquaries. Or, might it be that there is no approved list of infallible, ex cathedra statements because papal infallibility only became doctrine in 1870?
I took your advice and Googled it, by the way. There is wide disagreement upon the matter, even on Catholic forums. Especially there, actually.
in fact all of my grades in history were A. But obviously your prejudice and preconception of what is historical prevents you from thinking clearly.
