Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Yeshua Messiah, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from lawlessness and to purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

The Son, the Word of God therefore the Living Law of God reminded us of the fate of those who continue in disobedience.

John 3:36 “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

1Pet 2:21 For to this you were called, because Messiah also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: 22 “Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth”

Heb 4:6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, 7 again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.”[Ps 95:7-8; 1Cor 10:1-11] 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remains therefore a Sabbath keeping for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.

Unless one is dead and in the grave, ones work is not done. Therefore, the Sabbath command was not done away with in Messiah, but rather filled with meaning in Messiah.

The Sabbath commandment was fulfilled in Christ on our behalf.
Those who are in Christ have already satisfied God's righteous demands and satisfied God's justice.

The great big lie that the devil told Eve was that if they partake of the thing that God forbade : i.e. the tree of the knowledge of good and evil..... knowing the difference between what sin is, and what sin is not, that in that day that they shall not surely die, for God knows that in that day that Adam and Eve will become like God.

The law shows us that we are guilty before God, that we have failed, and that we can not become like God in our own efforts.
God said be ye holy for I am holy.

Jesus said, be ye perfect for our father in heaven is perfect.

The problem is ?

We can never become what God requires of us on our own, in our own efforts..
Jesus Christ himself said in Matthew 5:20 " For I say unto you, except that your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven..

WOW ! that's a real tall order.
Jesus Christ right there set a very high bar and standard didn't he ?

Now ?

Who can live a life that where their righteousness exceeds even that of the Jewish Scribes and Pharisees of his day ?

Anyone ?

Impossible.

So what is Jesus Christ actually saying here ?

It's impossible for man on his own to reach that standard that God has set to enter into heaven.

There is only one way.... it's through the blood of Christ.

That's the carnality of man's mind, that man can become like God on his own, in his own efforts.

That's what happen at the tower of babble.

The only way to become what God requires of us is in Christ, and in Christ alone.

In the true sense of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, what separates Christianity from all the rest of the world's religions is that all the other religions require you to appease God, works are a requirement to enter heaven.

In the true sense of the Gospel, Christianity is unique in that God himself came in the flesh, to die in our stead to save us.
We didn't appease him, he came to die the death that we deserved, he came to take the punishment that we deserved.

Man's carnal mind tells man , that some how, some way, man has to put his hand to the plow and make a effort by his works to earn his way to heaven.
The natural mind of man without God's holy spirit is called " Carnal " .... that's where we get the word carnivorous, carnivore i.e. meaty.
For the the natural man ( religious, carnal ) can not receive the things of the spirit of God.
Here's the scripture.
King James Bible: 1 Corinthians 2:14

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The natural unsaved, not born again man thinks in his natural carnal mind.
For the natural man thinketh that he must some how earn his way into heaven by his works.
That's what is called man made " Religion " .... and Religion is what Crucified Christ to the cross.

God's law tells us, that we are all guilty and no matter how much we try we fail.

This is what Pastor Mike Hoggard was talking about by nailing the 4th Commandment to the cross.... yes, it's there, in the bible, in the scriptures....

Colossians 2:14

King James

14. Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Here is what Saint Paul had to say about the " LAW " that was written on stones.... the only law that was written on stones was the 10 Commandmants...
The reason why it was written on stones is became God wanted to show that it was a unrevocable, unchangeable, permanent condemnation, verdict against mankind against a holy God.
This is what Saint Paul had to say being inspired by the holy spirit.
And the only reason why some people bulk and reject this is because they are resisting the holy spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:7

King James

But if the ministry of death, written and engraved in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:

Did you read that ? the law, the 10 commandments, was the ministry of death, written and engraved in stones.
" Which glory was to be done away "

That was the old covenant of God between God and the nation of Israel.... where in the bible does God demand that the gentile nations keep the 10 Commandments ?
That was exclusively between God and the nation of Israel.
God was going to create a new and better covenant that was going to be everlasting between him and all of mankind.
