Since he is a Jesuit I would surmise Francis Xavier, who was a great evangelizer so this would be an excellent sign.

I'm thinking St. Francis Xavier, but then I am reading a book entitled "Introduction to the Devout Life" by St. Francis de Sales. Of course, non-Catholics might immediately jump to St. Francis of Assisi -- and that's OK, for he also bore the wounds of Christ, the stigmata.
