I am also single and go to church, like you, to worship God. I have learned over the years that if you want friends, you have to extend yourself in friendship.

It is never easy to be single and a member of the Church. While the Church rightly must focus on both the married as well as priestly/consecrated life, those who are single either by choice or circumstances are the most forgotten members of Christ’s body, the Church.

Ok— I kicked my butt today and went to church. Procrastinated but made the 1PM spanish language service at least.
Always though I feel better after going to church and never regret it when its over. Thanks to many on this thread to help me get beyond an excuse that robs me of blessing if missing church.

Of late, that number is growing. Personally, I will not go out to dinner alone but have no problem attending Mass on Sunday as a single woman. The difference is apparent - going out to dine is lonely whereas at mass, we are with a companion, our Lord and Savior, who waits for us each week. That knowledge brings joy to my heart and wings to my feet ; - )
