Greetings_Puny_Humans:

Wow, so if someone actually believes in the scripture, they’re idolaters. Interesting position.

It would be, if that was what I said. It is not, but you know that, right? It is at best disingenuos - if not outright dishonest - to try and claim I said something I did not.

But you know that too, right?

“So you are copy and pasting things...”

And without attribution.

It is at best disingenuos - if not outright dishonest - to try and claim something as your original work when it is not.

But you knew that, right?

In that case, you’re asking me not to believe that the scripture is indeed sufficient for “making the man of God perfect and thoroughly furnished for good works.” Otherwise, believing the scripture is, evidently, idolatry to you.

The primary Old Testament Hebrew word used for worship means “a bowing down.” The Sola crowd, in all their many splinters, make the Book, Holy Writ to be God. That is idolatry just as if they had a Golden Calf.

Again you keep trying to tell me what I believe. Why? Run out of Wiki articles to cut-n-paste from?

What was your old FR name again? And why did you stop using it?

“So you are copy and pasting things from an anti-Catholic site I assume. “

If those two Bishops and one Pope are indeed anti-Catholic, I suppose the answer is “yes.” The quotes are from their writings, fully sourced. You can look them up if you want.

“we both know it.”

But I’m the only one who actually knows why. If you admit that there is no unanimous “oral tradition” of the Fathers, it undermines your contention that the Catholic Church is the inheritor of an infallible tradition from the Fathers.

“John’s Gospel, another bible verse refuting sola scriptura, states that not everything is written down”

It says that all the deeds of Jesus are not written down, not that there is an unlimited number of doctrines passed down orally to the Romanists, who can’t even figure out that the “oral tradition” they received taught transubstantiation.

“Both the Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church have taught that Truth is both written and oral for hundreds of years.”

According to the Eastern Orthodox’s oral tradition, the RCC is a heretical/schismatic group. They reject the primacy of Peter. They also have a unique spin on all sorts of issues that are different from the Roman Catholics. So, which Oral tradition is superior?

Unlike your tradition, the words of the Holy Scripture are always the same from one generation to the next. They do not differ, despite how much the EO, or the RCC, or some other group wrests them.

So how do you celebrate the Lord’s Day every day?

And do you regard Sunday as a particular day of worship or just another Pagan artifice?

Only following Yeshua’s commandments.

But your intense hatred that you demonstrate for the scriptures is understandable, given the RCC’s love for Takanots.

Religion Mod, Salvation is mad at me because my quotes from the “Fathers” are devastating. Those quotes are already sourced and are widely available all over the internet (It’s from Augustine, Theodoret and a Pope). There’s no one particular link where they came from, or even just a few links. They’re from the primary sources, translated to English. (All he has to do is look up the citation to read the original text, or just google the words directly, and he can pick a dozen or so places to read them from).

Sunday is a regular work day according to Yeshua, and his apostles. Paul made it plain that money was to be collected on the first day of the week, rather than on Yehova’s Sabbath, when dealing with money is forbidden.

You just got done telling everyone who believes as I do that we are actually idolaters. So, you get to insult us, but I can’t hold you accountable for misrepresenting my views? I believe the scripture for what it says. You’ve given me no reason to disbelieve it.

Don’t worry, I already confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Thanks for the thought, though.

ROTFLMAO!

You are a hoot. I guess to the Cut-n-Paste crowd Sola Scriptura makes sense.

You mean like you Catholics do with your so-called saints...I'm exhillerated to see that you finally admit to worshiping your saints/statues...

The Sola crowd, in all their many splinters, make the Book, Holy Writ to be God. That is idolatry just as if they had a golden calf.

That's just plain goofy...
