Sounds like your experience was different than mine.

I am quite comfortable in saying that my experience is probably the majority experience. Its common knowledge.

Where and when then since the other Catholics don’t seem to be corroborating your claims.

I am not questioning the personal experience of either one of you but such would be an exception and does not reflect the position of the Catholic Church. Below is an example of a school textbook from 1932 that was used to teach the Bible. It even has an official Imprimatur.

I would caution everyone from extrapolating private experiences to universal truths.

I can vouch for the same experience. I never even SAW a Bible unless we were visiting my Southern Baptist grandparents. I went to Catholic school from the third through the eighth grade and, even in religion class, the Bible was NEVER used or referenced. This was late 1950-1960’s. Sure, it supposedly has changed now, but those RCs denying our experiences and calling us liars are flat out wrong.
