The BSA won its supreme court case that recognized their right to set their own membership guidelines. And then the national leadership threw it away.

Yes, they bowed to their corporate sponsors.

There are a lot of religious church sponsored groups, but I'm not aware of ones that have the purpose that BSA has. Most of them have the purpose of Christian education and fellowship.

I agree that expanding the purpose of those groups to just encompass what BSA does would not have the appeal.

Have you heard Mark Levin denoucing the corporatists? He says that the Republican Party is not about principles but serves the interests of the corporatists. Corporatists do not believe in anything except money, not God or country or even free enterprise, they only believe in their bottom line. The BSA has joined up with amoral corporatists. The corporatists played along with Christian values and patriotism when it wasn’t challenged but now that the extreme left is attacking all of our institutions with a vengeance, they cave in because they do not believe in anything.
