God's Word Delivers

God is concerned about your total salvation spirit, soul, and body. And his word is the means of you receiving that salvation. James 1:21 says, receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your soul. Proverbs 4:20-22 says, attend to God's word and keep it in your eyes, ears, and in the midst of your heart for it is medicine(healing) to all your flesh. Notice in every instance the word has to be implanted in you, and there's a good reason for that. Jesus himself said, "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things." Notice how that is done, "For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." You speak the word of God out of your mouth from your heart and that word will deliver you. Proverbs 12:6 tells you, "The mouth of the upright will deliver them." So, when you are in a tough situation you have to learn how to speak the word of God that you have implanted in your heart. For it's out of the abundance of the heart your mouth will speak. And when that happens just like God said, his word will not return to him void, but it will accomplish that which He pleases. With the word of God continually in your mouth you can make your way prosperous (Joshua 1:8).

Very encouraging. I can testify that God’s word hidden in my heart is the only reason I survived a crazy mixed-up earlier life. It hasn’t looked pretty, but I made it to the present against much oppression from our adversary and in spite of many (failed) attempts of my own to bail out on God.

He is very persistent, and rich in mercy. That sharp Sword of his cuts right through and eventually even the biggest crackpots among us begin to stabilize and mature!
