1. vapid, shallow sermons.

3. who don’t have families
4. who don’t have wives

6. yet they’re giving advice about these things they never face in their personal lives.
7. plus sermons that are more political than biblical.
8. in the case of some denominations, women pastors. can’t relate and don’t have the connection to God through them.
Should try attending Messianic Jewish services. No lack of guys there .....
I hear you on numbers one and two but the rest sound like leftist divide and conquer talking points.
The challenges that life offers has no real bearing on the road traveled. The human experience is the human experience. There should be no reason that a well educated experienced man can’t help or offer perspective to anyone.
Of course if vapidity and shallowness extend to the intellect there’s no hope for it.
“in the case of some denominations, women pastors, can’t relate and don’t have the connection to God through them.”
That has been my experience, so far. That reminds me of a quote I read by Samuel Johnson when I was a teenager and have gotten into trouble quoting: “Watching a woman preach is like watching a dog walk on his hind legs; you aren’t surprised he can’t do it well, you are surprised he can do it at all.”
“plus sermons that are more political than biblical”.
I would pass out of my parish priest ever gave a political homily. Ain’t gonna happen. I wish it would.
