What do traditional Christians think of using astrology (not just celestial mechanics) to anticipate Jesus’ return?

You might find some Christiams using Astrology - but Astrology is shunned by most of the Christian Church. Of course, “celestial mechanics” is a completely separate thing.

As far as predicting the return of Jesus, there are two separate events. One is the Rapture, and according to the Doctrine of Imminence, one won’t know exactly when that will happen, but Christians are told to be aware of the season of it’s time, just like Jesus said.

As far as the time when Jesus sets his foot on the Mount of Olives, and sets up his one-world government over the nations of the world ... once someone is inside the Tribulation, then one can know down to the day, when Jesus comes back to the earth and battles the Antichrist and the remainder of his forces on earth.

But again, that’s once someone is already inside the Tribulation. If one is outside of it, as we are now, it’s not possible to predict the day.

There is a difference between astrology and astronomy! Christians do not use astrology, but astronomy is a completely different thing.
