My friend thought to himself "Yeah right".
5 minutes later he had a life changing encounter with the angel Breakthrough.
Don't kill the messenger. I just am passing on what I was told, for what it's worth. Your mileage may vary.
Really?
People need more discernment and to validate what they are experiencing through and based on Scripture, not some kind of emotional experience.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.
There is a real danger of deception in the church when people simply accept at face value anything that anyone says is from God or by God.
"I have a word from the Lord...." is all some people need to hear to completely throw caution to the wind and accept anything some self-proclaimed prophet has to say. They swallow the whole thing without questioning because they don't want to be found fighting God and don't even stop to consider that the prince of the power of the air, can do wonders and signs.
I don't doubt your friend experienced something.
I DO doubt it was from God.
Here’s another link to read some of the things Bob Jones has said. The quotes are cited so you can go and find them.

Lot's of folks seem to have had these kinds of 'encounters'.
