Mormonism is a cult. It is refuted by higher criticism, archeology, common sense, and much more importantly: THE HOLY BIBLE. It's followers follow the same model as ISLAM: they both negate previous divine revelation when it doesn't fit their theological structure.
But the final death blow comes from Jesus himself. He didn't authenticate anything outside of what was already written, and what would be universally accepted by the church.
