it delights the rebellious bodiless entities by its very repulsiveness.

Indeed, but what is even worse, is the wresting and abuse of Scripture in seeking to negate its injunctions against homosexual relations and behavior, and to find sanction for the same. http://peacebyjesus.witnesstoday.org/Homosex_versus_the_Bible.html

But as all have sinned, there is room at the cross for all who will turn to the Lord Jesus in repentance faith, for salvation by His sinless shed blood and righteousness. Thanks be to God.

"You and I agree on this. Horrid language. I won’t even read past the first sentence."

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Bible provides guidance for talking and using language, but it generally seems to be referring to the actual intent of what is being said, even for "colorful" language.

For example the Bible says not to use language for "crude joking", or to make "obscene talk", but I don't believe that trying to make a clear and forceful righteous point using "colorful" language is prohibited anywhere in the Bible (correct me if I'm wrong).

(The writer of this blog/article is making very clear to everyone (including some befuddled Christians) exactly what homosexual men actually do with each other for kicks, and it is not a romantic, or polite, or sanitary, or healthy, or sin-free activity to engage in. The writer is making clear how wrong it is for anyone to say "Bravo!" to such sinful behaviors.)

In fact, Salvation, even in the Bible, the Holy Spirit has guided many biblical writers to actually use various forms of "colorful" language to clearly and unmistakably make bold points right there in the Bible itself. Here are a few quick examples:

= = = = = = = = = = = = =

When they came back and told him, he said, “This is the word of the Lord, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, ‘In the territory of Jezreel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel; and the corpse of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the territory of Jezreel, so that no one can say, This is Jezebel.’”     2 Kings 9:36-37

But the Rabshakeh said to them, “Has my master sent me to speak these words to your master and to you, and not to the men sitting on the wall, who are doomed with you to eat their own dung and to drink their own urine?”    2 Kings 18:26-28

The indolent may be compared to the filth of dunghills; any one that picks it up will shake it off his hand.     Sirach 22:2

But the Rabshakeh said, “Has my master sent me to speak these words to your master and to you, and not to the men sitting on the wall, who are doomed with you to eat their own dung and drink their own urine?”     Isaiah 36:12

Then I said, “Ah Lord God! behold, I have never defiled myself; from my youth up till now I have never eaten what died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has foul flesh come into my mouth.” Then he said to me, “See, I will let you have cow’s dung instead of human dung, on which you may prepare your bread.”     Ezekiel 4:14-15

If you will not listen, if you will not lay it to heart to give glory to my name, says the Lord of hosts, then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings; indeed I have already cursed them, because you do not lay it to heart. Behold, I will rebuke your offspring, and spread dung upon your faces, the dung of your offerings, and I will put you out of my presence.    Malachi 2:2-3

I wish those who unsettle you would castrate themselves!    Galatians 5:12 (New Revised Standard Version - NRSV)

When Cardinal Dolan said "Bravo!" when he heard this young football player was flaunting his perverse homosexual lifestyle, he was not expressing love for that man. True Christian love would not cause a Christian to say "Bravo!" to an activity and lifestyle which could cause that young football player to lose his soul, but would instead cause a Christian to try to help convert that young man, so that his soul might be saved from hell.

As a Catholic Cardinal, Dolan should be completely aware of the following teachings given by the revelations of God, which make clear the discernment of sin and pastoral counseling Dolan should have provided that young man, and all other people listening to him that morning on "Meet the Press" who may also be jeopardizing their own souls by engaging in that same type of plainly sinful behavior.

= = = = = = = = = = = = =

St. Paul plainly tells us in the Bible that "homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

And in paragraphs 2357, 2358, and 2359, the "Catechism of the Catholic Church" clearly tells us that homosexuals should NEVER engage in homosexual acts, and that they must ALWAYS remain chaste.

Paragraph 2357    Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

Paragraph 2358    The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

Paragraph 2359    Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

= = = = = = = = = = = = =

Cardinal Dolan was very wrong to do that "Bravo!" thing, as he has also been very wrong about a lot of things in recent years, (including helping get Obama elected and re-elected, and being wishy-washy and ambivalent about the governor of New York and the mayor of New York City, both obvious enemies of the Catholic Church).

God bless you Salvation.

Ann doesn’t oppose all taxes. She refuses to pay for abortions (including forced abortions), sterilizations (including forced sterilizations), programs promoting sodomy, etc., etc.

Just because some of what Caesar does is legitimate doesn’t mean he has the right to demand 60% of anyone’s income, or to use tax money to commit abominations.

Just another Scripture verse ripped out of context and twisted like a pretzel.

Flat tax no good. Within one session of Congress, we’d have progressive rates back. After all, “fairness.”

We must repeal the 16th Amendment.

Then, repeal ALL federal taxes, on everything and everybody.

Then, the FAIR Tax.

And disband all tax-writing committees in the House and Senate.

O’Connor was a phony. He didn’t bust any gay priests, of which New York has plenty. He promoted a notorious womanizer to be an auxiliary bishop. When questioned about by the Pope, he lied. After the man was consecrated about a year, another woman came out of the woodwork. The guy’s name has been stricken from most places, so I won’t repeat it here.

If it’s true, it’s Christian.

If it’s untrue, it’s not Christian.

“Christian” does not mean “nice.”

You don’t like the “shove the Jews in the oven” law? Work to change it.

In the meantime, everyone who obeys the law and shoves Jews in the oven is blameless, huh?

I thought they were:

Murder (Abortion)
Sodomy (Sodomy)
Defrauding workers (Social Security, etc.)
Treason (Open borders, amnesty, disarmament, being on the Russkies’ side throughout the Cold War)

You know, The Democratic Platform.

Just think what a REAL Cardinal would say: He would first of all say that he was sad. He would say that it is always sad when a man “comes out,” because it causes scandal. And it causes a temporary, deceptive sense of liberation.

There is a great deal he could say that would convey what the Church teaches without uttering a single syllable of “condemnation,” or “judgment.” But also without being a jackass!

Thanks forgot. He came to visit my high school a few times many moons ago. I believe he was archbishop when Pope John Paul II came to visit NY the first time.

Put a limit on the tax. Also put back the protective tariffs on imports. That should keep things in line.

Protective tariff is a terrible idea. Smoot-Hawley!

The 16th amendment MUST be repealed, or we will have a monstrous income tax code once again, in just a few years.

Have you read about the FAIR Tax?

That wasn’t the issue. The issue was whether it was moral or immoral to refuse to pay.

OF COURSE they come to get the money! But that’s not relevant to the moral question.

“... The issue was whether it was moral or immoral to refuse to pay...”

I defer to what the Good Book, God, Jesus & the Holy Spirit say about it.

Gonna leave the thread on that note.

Thank you VERY much for that "Homosex vs the Bible" link. I have been aware for several years now that there is a growing trend of "gay" theologians and scholars and their allies, in trying to reinterpret the Bible's clear condemnation of unnatural sex acts which completely sever the bond between sexuality and procreation. I'd been looking for a clear, systematic refutation of their sophistry. I haven't had time to examine the linked material yet, but I'm hoping it's exactly what I've been looking for.

I appreciate this resource!
