What part of the, "thy Will be done" in the Pater Noster does this pope not understand? If we stick with God's will, there's no need to pray...I always pray for my will and hope God agrees with it...
And he has, so many times...

Actually, if you pray the Our Father, you do pray that God’s will be done.
Or do you not pray the Lord’s prayer?
