Now that he's out of office, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is stepping up his efforts to battle the National Rifle Association and expand gun control laws. Bloomberg detailed his plans in an interview with the New York Times published Monday in which he predicted his crusades against guns, smoking, and obesity would serve him well in the afterlife.
"I am telling you if there is a God, when I get to heaven Im not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. Its not even close," Bloomberg said.
Bloomberg is prepared to spend $50 million this year alone on his gun control push, The New York Times' Jeremy Peters reports.
According to the report, he will use the investment to build "a nationwide grass-roots network to motivate voters who feel strongly about curbing gun violence." Peters wrote that Bloomberg "tossed out the $50 million figure out as if he were describing the tip he left on a restaurant check" and hinted he could spend even more in his battle against the NRA.

Our works is as dirty rags, Bloomberg.
And you’re right, your efforts aren’t even close.
Bloomers has lost it. Probably all the pressure he get from his ‘RAT pals to spend his bucks on their commie causes.
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
He's a self described saint, with an ego the size of Manhattan.
What a stink bomb he is.
By ‘heaven,’ Bloomberg means ‘A house on Fire Island inhabited by impressionable teenage boys with low self esteem.’
“I am telling you if there is a God”.
i’m sure God doesn’t care that he supports abortion.
Sounds to me like the road he’s on is paved with good intentions.
Dictating terms to God??
Sell your cloak and buy a sword
His arrogance is both amusing and breathtaking. “I’m not going to stop to be interviewed, I’m going right in!” OH REALLY? He might find himself being yanked back to the waiting room by one of those long shephard hooks they used in Vaudeville to get the bad actors off the stage. Why is he talking about this now? Maybe a doctor told him you have Acute and Chronic Busybody-itis, and the only cure that really works is isolation and prayer.
If we have to earn it then we are all lost. While good works are a given they are not the means by which we enter and I suggest anyone who thinks they have done enough is not even close to a true self evaluation or an understanding of the graces of God!
oh boy, he who thinks he will walk right in has a better chance of passing a camel through the head of a pin.
Pharisee
LOL! I like that. He's got a SERIOUS case of Chronic Busybody-itis!
Bloomberg would be better advised to ponder the saying about a rich man entering the kingdom of heaven.
I can just see St. Peter now.
Bloomberg. Bloomberg.
Oh yes - here it is.
Arrogant.
Conceited.
Prideful.
And worst of all, you trampled on the God- given right, yes - GOD given, right of men to have guns with which to protect themselves, their family, and their Freedoms.
(I don’t FOR SURE know Bloomberg’s soul, so I’ll let St. Pete determine the final outcome.)
