Good teaching SHOULD produce good morals; otherwise it is useless.
It is saddening to find that you agree with me that Catholic Teaching doesn't work too well.
Good idea!
VERY Good idea!
Unlike in some communistic countries; there IS more than one brand on the shelf...
It's GOOD for you!! It goes down smoothly and once you try it, you'll be a Catholic FOREVER!!!
Sounds yummy; but ya GOTTA have yer milk; too!
John 6:53 Jesus said to them, "Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood...
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doth the will of my Father who is in heaven, he shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Why should this sadden you? The only person this would sadden to the point of doubting the Truth are those not fully formed in the faith and have unrealistic expectations. Not one person here has ever said that every Catholic is morally impeccable and that includes the popes.
Cardinal Arinze said it best when Pope Benedict XVI resigned. The first resignation in 600 years. He said that this event should help us to grow in maturity in our Faith. Protestants need to adopt the same outlook. They need to mature in their own faith. I always find it interesting that protestants decry the "man-made" aspects of the Faith and yet latch onto the failings of man as evidence of something. Really? Is this something new? Were you hoping for a different outcome? Perhaps protestant faith in man is more evident than it should
The Truth is the Truth no matter if anyone adopts it. This is a hard saying, etc. There will always be people who walk away.
Matthew 7:3-5 or try Romans 2:1
Anarcho-Christianity isn’t Christ’s Church and never can be.
Are you saying you don’t know who Christ was addressing in John 20? I’m awake.
“Then you have not been paying attention.”
That is one possibility!!
“
Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
“
No requirement in that passage that you must be baptized to be saved. Will you please point out where you inserted it when you read it in your mind?
“Anarcho-Christianity isnt Christs Church and never can be.”
Candidly, I’ve exchanged posts with you enough to know your cultic beliefs. For that reason, I commit you to the Holy Spirit to open your eyes as and when He sees fit. Best to you.
NASB: 1 Peter 3:21 This prefigured baptism, which saves you now. It is not a removal of dirt from the body but an appeal to God* for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
You see Catholics read the whole Bible.
” Im awake. “
Congratulations.
Matthew 16:16-19:
16) Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17) And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
18) And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church and the powers of death shall not prevail against it.
19) I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” [NOTE Jesus gives Peter “the keys” to the Kingdom of Heaven. If we look at Revelation 1:18 Jesus holds “the keys” to Death and Hades.” I have the keys to Death and Hades (Revelation 1:8, Jesus). And Jesus handed the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven to Peter, a symbol to giving Peter the authority to bind or loose in Heaven.]
Matthew 18:18:
18) Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
John 20:19-23:
19) On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where there disciples were for the fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”
20) When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
21) Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.”
22) And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
23) If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any they are retained.” [NOTE in verse 22 Jesus BREATHED ON THE APOSTLES and said to them RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT. The only other place in the Bible where God breathed on man was after the creation of Adam when He breathed into Adam’s nostrils the breath of life. Genesis 2.7. When God breathed His life into Adam an important transformation took place. Adam became the image of God. When Jesus breathed on the apostles another important transformation took place. They received the power of God to forgive sins.]
2Corinthians 5:18-20:
18) All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;
19) that is, God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
20) So we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” [NOTE in these verses we clearly see God using human mediators to bring people to God in reconciliation.]
Acts 19:18:
18) Many also of those who were now believers came, confessing and divulging their practices. [NOTE in this verse we see new converts making a public confession to a human mediator.]
Matthew 3:6 (John the Baptist):
6)...and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. [NOTE in this verse we again see new converts making a public confession to a human mediator.]
Yet another see and say of a verse wrested out of context to pretend it appeared in Mt! :-)
My beliefs are absolutely Biblical and if that makes me a member of a cult so be it. Adieu, FRiend.
There is no way that can possibly be true or you wouldnt have been so naïve as to ask the following question.
>>Which parts of the OT dispensation no longer apply in this, Our Modern Age?<<
Do you follow all of the Levitical laws? Do you celebrate all of the festivals? Do you eat any land animal that does not chew its cud? Surely you wouldnt eat bacon or any other part of a pig right? I suppose you dont eat shellfish such as lobsters, oysters, shrimp, clams and crabs since they were are all forbidden in the Old Testament right?
What? You say they dont apply today? Well? I guess we have cracked that You know better than I meme. And if those have changed it makes one wonder what else may have changed with the death and ressurection of Christ as the final and perfect sacrifice doesn't it?
Im sure it is. Simply following the crowd of the RCC rather than independent study to find Gods truth will do that to people. Think the Catholic Church doesnt know its incorporated paganism into its religion?
We need not shrink from admitting that candles, like incense and lustral water, were commonly employed in pagan worship and the rites paid to the dead. But the Church from a very early period took them into her service, just as she adopted many other things indifferent in themselves, which seemed proper to enhance the splendor of religious ceremonial. We must not forget that most of these adjuncts to worship, like music, lights, perfumes, ablutions, floral decorations, canopies, fans, screens, bells, vestments etc. were not identified with any idolatrous cult in particular; but they were common to almost all cults (Catholic Encyclopedia, III, 246.)
When we give or receive Christmas gifts; or hang green wreaths in our homes and churches, how many of us know that we are probably observing pagan customs...the god, Woden, in Norse Mythology, descends upon the earth yearly between December 25th and January 6th to bless mankind...But pagan though they be, they are beautiful customs. They help inspire us with the spirit of 'good will to men', even as the sublime service of our Church reminds us of the peace on earth which the babe of Bethlehem came to bestow (Externals of the Catholic Church, 140).
I can say more than wow. I can say the RCC is based on mostly pagan customs, rituals, vestments and ideology.
That verse alone should set Catholics back on their heels.
In the Religion forum, on a thread titled Is Holy Communion Real or Symbolic?, CynicalBear wrote:

Of course that is the opinion of one, odd poster. A poster who call Easter and Christmas “pagan” and who denigrates those who venerate even a simple Cross. So if you want to understand the state of anti-Catholic hate here on FR, simply follow what CB claims as true. Even when it is demonstrably false, like the quote above.
