Where did I pretend anything. I told you straight out Catholics read the WHOLE Bible. We understand the entire plan for salvation.

“Where did I pretend anything. I told you straight out Catholics read the WHOLE Bible. We understand the entire plan for salvation.”

You took one verse out of context in order to make it appear it supported your position and added Matthew 28 as if it said the same thing.

1. It is a rare Roman who reads the entire Scriptures.
2. I believe they understand much of the plan of salvation. They get to third base, but that is obscured by the rest of the non-Biblical stuff.

Despite all those obstacles, there are many Romans who are truly saved.

It is real, because Spirit is real. It is not symbolic.

Catholics are trained not do discuss scripture with Protestants...

Not at all. We know protestants are trained to deny the words of Scripture and make up their own language --

"This is my body" means 'this represents my body'

"You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.” Means you are saved by faith alone.

Hard to have an intelligent discussion with someone who thinks 'IS" means 'Represents', and "not by faith alone" means "by faith alone"

You deny the clear words of Scripture. You make up your own religion.

You have satan on your side

Who, but the devil, has granted such license of wresting the words of the holy Scripture? Who ever read in the Scriptures, that my body is the same as the sign of my body? or, that is is the same as it signifies? What language in the world ever spoke so? It is only then the devil, that imposes upon us by these fanatical men. Not one of the Fathers of the Church, though so numerous, ever spoke as the Sacramentarians:not one of them ever said, It is only bread and wine; or, the body and blood of Christ is not there present.

Surely, it is not credible, nor possible, since they often speak, and repeat their sentiments, that they should never (if they thought so) not so much as once, say, or let slip these words: It is bread only; or the body of Christ is not there, especially it being of great importance, that men should not be deceived. Certainly, in so many Fathers, and in so many writings, the negative might at least be found in one of them, had they thought the body and blood of Christ were not really present: but they are all of them unanimous.” –Luther’s Collected Works, Wittenburg Edition, no. 7 p, 391

Judas didn’t believe what Yeshua taught and commanded, and that is what is required to qualify as believing in the context of the word of God.

So Judas sold Jesus out - he abandoned Him.

Did not Peter do the same?

I don't KNOW the man!

Scripture does not record what Judas 'believed'; merely what he DID.

Peter wept bitterly - Judas hanged himself.

We have NO idea if Judas' last words were similar to the penitent thief or like the other one.

The dead were judged according to their works as recorded in the books.

The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to their works.

Many???

How 'bout 100%!!!

Well; all those who DO all the things that Rome teaches are required to gain salvation.

Litany of Humility

Rafael Cardinal Merry del Val (1865-1930),
Secretary of State for Pope Saint Pius X

O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being loved...
From the desire of being extolled ...
From the desire of being honored ...
From the desire of being praised ...
From the desire of being preferred to others...
From the desire of being consulted ...
From the desire of being approved ...
From the fear of being humiliated ...
From the fear of being despised...
From the fear of suffering rebukes ...
From the fear of being calumniated ...
From the fear of being forgotten ...
From the fear of being ridiculed ...
From the fear of being wronged ...
From the fear of being suspected ...

That others may be loved more than I,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That others may be esteemed more than I ...
That, in the opinion of the world,
others may increase and I may decrease ...
That others may be chosen and I set aside ...
That others may be praised and I unnoticed ...
That others may be preferred to me in everything...
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should…

Protestantism - 800 million[edit]

A map of Protestantism (including Anglicanism) by population percentage.
Estimates of the total number of Protestants are very uncertain, partly because of the difficulty in determining which denominations should be placed in the category. It seems however clear that Protestantism is the second largest major group of Christians after Catholicism by number of followers. Often that number is put at 800 million.[7] Some sources, which put the number at 800 million, include also Anglicanism (see below) within Protestantism.[8][9] However, Protestant denominations in the world differ vastly to slightly theologically and do not form a single communion.

I read and write Greek. I checked. The Latin Vulgate is just a translation and not an “original.”

Imagine that.......

I would advise any Catholic (or non Catholic) to follow the teachings of Jesus as directed by Jesus to Peter and the Catholic Church.(Matthew 16:18-20)

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

While I do not know the religious beliefs or practices of your church, I do feel that most other Christian churches were established by man and do not follow all the teachings of Jesus or the Catholic Church. I am sure that the intentions are good and that they attempt to follow Jesus. I hope that there will be unity as promised by Christ and that the many will join Jesus in Heaven.

I am more concerned with all the bad things that people do to each other (whether reported in the news or not). I do believe that people of Faith can move mountains if we do so with God’s help.

Weak answers, all.

Iscool asked some very good questions which deserved better answers than being blown off.

I have accepted the sacrifice that Jesus made of His body on the cross in order to heal my sin sick vessel; as well as the redemption He provided in the shedding of HIs blood (His life on the cross). To believe this verse defines the literal drinking of His blood, and the literal eating of His body is what He said, is to violate every interpretive rule of the word of God in executing proper exegesis. I daily experience His presence, His peace, His joy, and His righteousness in this life I have surrendered unto Him. Jesus also said, “if you eye offend you, pluck it out, and if you hand offend you, cut it off.” Should we take that literally by ripping our eyeballs out, and cutting off our hands? I partake of the bread and the cup on a regulard basis with His exhortation to “Do This In Remembrance Of Me,” understanding what He truly meant when He said, “This is may body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me......this is the cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood” (Luke22:19-20). This was before His crucifixion, before His death, and before His resurrection. Were they literally drinking His blood and eating His flesh prior to His death? Did Jesus literally eat His own body, and drink His own blood? This is nothing more than Cultic Religion, following an apostate Christianity which has twisted and wrangled the Scriptures as a means of making men captive to their twisted interpretations and dictates.

Such cultic twisting of the word of God must nauseate Him.

“Feelings! Nothing more than feelings...”

Peter just denied him out of weakness, and later repented; he didn’t follow him for a year and a half with the intention of selling him to the highest bidder.

Judas fell on his sword, which was the standard way of dying when one was dishonored. That is what “hanging” meant at that time. That does not necessarily mean he repented, just that he could no longer live with himself.
