Do you really understand transubstantiation?
trans=transfer
substantiation=substance.
Thus the substance of wine is transferred to spiritual Blood, but still appears as wine to the human eye.
Also the substance of the host (bread) is transferred to spiritual Bread, but still appears as a host to the communicant.
