Calvin, Aquinas and a Whopper with Cheese "Be Your Way!"

Calvin, Aquinas and a Whopper with Cheese "Be Your Way!" The new slogan sums up the philosophy that drives our public debate on morality

“Have It Your Way!” You’ve heard it thousands of times. That’s because Burger King has been drumming it into our heads for forty years. But you’re not going to hear it any more. Burger King no longer wants you to “Have It Your Way!” That’s not good enough for you. From now on, “Be Your Way!”

According to Associated Press, Burger King wants to communicate that customers, “can and should live how they want anytime. It’s ok to not be perfect … Self-expression is most important and it’s our differences that make us individuals instead of robots.” It’s a matter of “making a connection with a person’s greater lifestyle.”

Yes, we’re talking validating existence with Whoppers. But, no, it’s not crazy. The new slogan sums up the prevailing philosophy that drives our choices and much of our public debate on moral questions.

In his book, The Unintended Reformation: How a Religious Revolution Secularized Society, Notre Dame history professor Brad Gregory writes, “As [Alasdair] MacIntyre notes, the widespread default in Western societies at large is emotivism, an ethic of subjective, feelings-based, personal preference, which only exacerbates the unresolved and irresolvable [moral] disagreements. The de facto guideline for the living of human life in the Western world today seems simply to be ‘whatever makes you happy’—‘so long as you’re not hurting anyone else’—in which the criteria for happiness, too, are self-determined, self-reporting, and therefore immune to critique ….”

I wonder if these morons ever think about the ‘glue’ that holds a society together?

Is Be Your Way a hidden message of support for the homosexuals? Lady Gag sings they were born that way. Is this hinting at that message?

And we’ve heard for years that we should recognize that homosexuals are that way because that’s “who they are”, and we have been lectured by Democrats to accept people “no matter who you love”, which is also code for supporting homosexual marriage.

It probably is. I was at a Chase bank recently and there was an ad that said something similar with a rainbow flag.

As a Christian, I see the statement “be your way” is basically saying “remain in your naturally sinful and unregenerate state” rather than repenting and coming to saving faith in Christ.

"Is Be Your Way a hidden message of support for the homosexuals?"

That thought also occurred to me. But if homosexuality is a genetic trait, and if it strongly discourages procreation, why has it survived? You would think that natural selection would have eliminated it by now.

All that I asked was for a hamburger, my way, no mayo. And then, in the parking lot, was a sun-baked car with a fading bumper sticker reading: “Did we have to vote for your wedding?” Never again. Never, ever again.

Maybe we should start a rumor that “Be Your Way” is aimed at folks like Phil Robertson (or even Don Sterling), who obviously have strongly-held beliefs.

Seriously, it’s an annoying phrase that reminds me each time I hear how irritating it is. “Have it your way” at least conjured an image of serving the customer a custom product to their specifications.

That's not what the Bible tells us -- in several places!

Ephesians 5

1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.

2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

3 But fornication and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is fitting among saints.

4 Let there be no filthiness, nor silly talk, nor levity, which are not fitting; but instead let there be thanksgiving.

5 Be sure of this, that no fornicator or impure man, or one who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for it is because of these things that the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

7 Therefore do not associate with them,

8 for once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light

9 (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true),

10 and try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.

11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

12 For it is a shame even to speak of the things that they do in secret;

13 but when anything is exposed by the light it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light.

14 Therefore it is said, "Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light."

If Darwinian evolutionists were consistent they would hold that perspective but they’ve been brainwashed and/or intimidated into rejecting the logical conclusions of their arguments.

First time I heard it, I thought ebonics. Either way, it’s very annoying and grating on the ears.

The signs recently posted on the entrances of Burger Kings here basically say that if you pass out any religious material or tracts in the shop or in their parking lot, you will be arrested. That doesn’t ‘make me happy.’ Would someone validate this in other locations?

BK’s new slogan makes zero sense. What the hell does ‘Be Your Way’ mean?
