It seems the wheat and chaff are sperating themselves.
Amen! The great falling away is taking place before our very eyes. Very sad.
The upside of this story is that all the liberal denominations that do embrace the abominations are losing members.
We aren’t separating. The chaff is going to get rid of the wheat because every time they look at the wheat, they realize what they are. The guilt will make them chase us out. The darkness “hates” the light.
Homosexuals are Christ’s “winnowing fork”, and indeed, He is separating the wheat from the chaff.
In my mind I think there is no greater evidence that we're heading into the final chapter than the rise of this issue. This shouldn't even be an issue. I'm reminded of Aaron:
Exo 32:4 And he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden calf. And they said, "These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!"
Exo 32:5 When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, "Tomorrow shall be a feast to the LORD."
Appeasement is the tool of the devil. We can't have God on our terms.
Read the letters to the 7 churches in Revelation 2-3.
In each of them there were Christians who received instructions about what to do. We are definitely in a Pergamum/Thyatira era in our western culture. In the east they are persecuted.
I don't question our legitimacy as churches, Gamey. I just question the quality of our relationship with the Lord.
Just to be honest with you, our mainline protestants are heretical, and our independent protestants are wanting to go that same direction.
We might have our doctrines down to a "t", and we might run walk-a-thons for cancer/malaria/wounded warriors, but when it comes to holiness of life, we OFFICIALLY want the sinful nature to be ascendant.
I'm in favor of looking at churches who OFFICIALLY don't want sinfulness of life. I don't care if they're independent or organized. If they're withstanding the spirit of the age, they are closer to us than those 'evangelical' who call for 'dialogue' with homosexual advocates.
