Hobby Lobby Verdict a Victory For Ultra-Right Catholic Co-Conspirators With Chuck Colson’s Ghost
Patheos.com ^ | 7/1/14 | Frank Schaeffer

Pope Francis must have vomited when he heard the Hobby Lobby news. Nothing could undo the good he has recently done the Church’s image more than yet another case of anti-woman lashing out by a cabal or far right Roman Catholic activists– this time in the Supreme Court.

Alarmed by the Supreme Court pandering to the extreme religious right in the Hobby Lobby case, the new pope might ask “Who is responsible for this?” The answer is: Many people. However two people are the real instigators: the late evangelical far right activist, Charles Colson, and Roman Catholic far right ideologue and anti-gay activist, Princeton Professor Robert George. Their tool has been Justice Antonin Scalia the other Roman Catholic members of the Court.

George is a close friend and co-conspirator with fellow ultra-conservative far right Roman Catholic ideologues including with Scalia who became the ringleader of the GOP’s Court-driven Hobby Lobby lunge into theocratic politics. George is the de facto father of the twinned war against gays and war against women. Scalia is his follower and close friend. And George has the support of the U.S. Roman Catholic bishops, the Mormon leadership and the most conservative of the evangelical leaders. Charles Colson was George’s close confident. Together they hatched the plan that in the end (and after Colson died) became the Hobby Lobby case.

Way back when, the late Charles “Chuck” Colson teamed up with George of to launch the dirty tricks campaign to brand President Obama as “anti-religious.” They decided to use the issue of contraception as the hinge to turn people against him.

This article reminds me of the possessed girl in “The Exorcist” when splashed with Holy Water.

That's funny. I had a similar image, but from a VERY different movie.

ultra-conservative far right Roman Catholic ideologues

Not enough punch in that phrasing ... perhaps adding "extreme" would polish it off nicely.

"abyss of irrationality" explained here:

Romans 1:28-32
And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

When I first read this I honestly thought it was satire, a mocking of the moonbat left wing. It is obviously not satire, sadly, but it is certainly demonic.

Boy did this nut ever fall far from the tree.

I would think all those Catholics that rejoiced at his conversion to Catholicism are wondering if they can throw this fish back into the sea.

The persecution is coming.

It is already here. It just hasn't gotten really physical yet, but they will get to that soon enough. Keep your powder dry.

This Is a little confusing. Many Catholics support the Obama policies. Illegal immigrants, welfare, social services, big government, etc.

But when it comes to abortion, gay marriage, etc., Catholics are the biggest enemies of the Obama policies.

I think it might be more of a matter that certain people would prefer to “level the playing” field such that...

if someone ultimately decides to go off the welfare rolls and actually becomes employed...

they would rather that such “work” would be equal to welfare and...

not really require any physical/mental ^effort^ to gain a paycheck. All the while complaininig that their employer doesn’t “pay” any better than welfare. (Can you say “McDonald’s”?)

IOW, if the government will pay me to sit on my a$$ and abort my sexual indiscretions for free, why shouldn’t my employer do the same. To wit, every employer should operate like the nanny-state government but pay much better than welfare.

Let’s all review the Rise & Fall of the CCCP.

You are right, of course, but even more fundamentally, it is not a Supreme Court Justice's job to rewrite the law.

Roberts had to rewrite the law to rule on the 'tax', because it was, in fact, a penalty, and it had been repeatedly stated that the penalty was not a tax by the selfsame legislators who pushed the measure.

One dollar.

I guess that’s how much a pinch of incense for divine Caesar costs these days.

The Left demand worship of the state - and of their master, the devil. They have been denied. This is why they are shrieking.

My theory is that Satan encourages competition among his lieutenants.

A demon called “Allah” has a plan. Some other high ranking demon runs world socialism in all its forms.

They compete with each other, but they never lose sight of the Enemy.

But when it comes to abortion, gay marriage, etc., Catholics are the biggest enemies of the Obama policies.

I disagree with making that generalization. Although my observations are anecdotal, some of the biggest PRO abortion and gay marriage advocates that I know are Catholics.

As with a large number of American Jews, many Catholics place political ideology above their religion.

Which is very perplexing for me. Although I do not consider myself a religious person, I believe that if one is truly religious, then those beliefs and principles must take precedence over everything else. I also believe that a religion of any sincere, humanitarian value does not advocate murdering babies and repressing the liberties of people. Nor does it advocate despotic government and the forced subjugation of the populace.

The persecution is coming.

Then they had better be well armed and willing to die for their fanatical & perverted ideologies.

I am coming to believe that there is a breaking point for those that are the objects of their sick hatred. The only thing in question is when that point will be reached.

You nailed it. “Allah” is only the Devil masquerading as a god. Jesus warned us of such.

Muzzies themselves believe it is impossible to approach “Allah” with prayer. “Inshallah!” is their only hope. This “Allah” has the attributes of a demon, IMO, because his worshippers kill and kill and kill in hopes of pleasing him, in fact they see killing “infidels” as their only sure route to “paradise”.

“By their fruits ye shall know them.”

ohmygosh...it's getting impossible to do satire anymore, with stuff like this passing as truth. This is no victory for the ultra-right contingent (and many other religious people) because ObamaCare still forces paying for birth control.

It's a victory for everyone who believes in "Thou shalt not kill". It only defunds abortion methods.
