You are SO wrong, SoConPubbie. The whole point is, without the ship, you will drown, as we are seeing daily with the protestants. All sliding down on moral issues, one after the other. Am currently reading a book about life in a European city, where the bottom of the moral bucket is pretty black: casual sex including legal prostitution, euthanasia making elderly a rare sight, dads usually unknown, much of the population stoned, and nobody has a clue why they are so poor.

No, I am not.

My Ship is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, not my church organization. So should yours be as well.

We are commanded by the Bible to Try the Spirits to know who they are of.

We are also told by Jesus himself that He will send his Holy Spirit, and He will teach us ALL things we need to know.

Not once in that statement does he reference a church organization.

Jesus came to save us and deliver us from our sin by REMOVING the priestly layer of the Old Testament and replacing it with a direct relationship with him, our High Priest.

If you are basing your salvation, your religion on anything else, you are accepting a facsimile of what Jesus died to give you: Freedom from your sin and a direct relationship with him.

Wow, SoConPubbie! How did you miss all that? How about Matthew 16:18 “And I say to you, you are Peter and on this Rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Didn't you get the point of the way the Apostles were separated from the other disciples for deeper teaching, in a hierarchical manner? What about the Last Supper, restricted to the Apostles only, with the command to “Do this in memory of Me?” (Luke 22:19) “You shall sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” (Luke 22:30) And how about “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained?” (John 20:23) It's pretty clear the Apostles got the point that Jesus was establishing an organization with a hierarchy.
